Up and Coming

Alina woke with a start. Gasping for breath, she wipes the hair away that was sticking to her forehead. It's okay, he's gone, he can't hurt us anymore. The whispers in her head start to grow louder, telling her to run.

He's coming mi Alinetta, you must hide!

No! We are safe, he's gone. He was arrested weeks ago!

He is coming, he is coming, he is coming....

They kept on with that mantra for hours. She finally grabbed her phone and pulled up the article that showed he's been arrested for kidnapping, abuse, and inducing stockholm syndrome on many people.

She was one of the few who didn't catch on, and made it out mostly unscathed. She still has trauma from the nights he got bored. She shuddered at the thought, the amount of times she was broken and bruised for his enjoyment, didn't at all measure up to the other things he found enjoyable.

Once the whispers had finally stopped, she was fully awake and wasn't going to sleep anytime soon. She got up to take a shower, but before she got in, she looked in the mirror. Scars littered her skin, her neck and face the only part of her body that hadn't been torn apart and put back together.

She grabbed a pair of leggings and a big t shirt to put on when she got out. She strapped her leg holsters on and grabbed her guns, the one good thing that came from him was her training. Alina could kill anything in seconds without another thought for whatever it was. She put a good sized dagger in its sheath on her lower back, and a small knife in her high tops.

Today was the day she was meant to go to, oh what was it? Pigwarts? Oh shit, no Hogwarts. Whatever it was, she didn't trust it, and never would. She tied her jumper around her waist to hide the holsters, slung a pack over her shoulder, and grabbed her trunk. She'd already been to Diagon Alley, which just sounded like Diagonally, but ok, and gotten her school supplies and wand.

The old man in the wand shop gave her an odd look when she walked in, and told her he'd never met someone with her aura.

I think he meant vibes, but he was old so I don't think he knew that word

He ended up giving her a 9 and a half inch hazel wood wand, slight flexibility, and a dragon heartstring core. His specific words. She was beyond confused, and it only made it worse when he said dragon. Not even the heartstring part, no, dragon

What the hell kind of world was this? She didn't know but would soon find out. She arrived at King's Cross Station and was looking around for 9 3/4 platform, and got so lost. Finally a very pretty dark haired woman noticed her, in all her confusion, and came to help her.

"Are you a first year?" She asked, an ever-pleasant smile on her face.

"Umm not sure really, I'm 16 and my letter said I was a latecomer to my class so I'd say no." She gave a half hearted smile. The woman looked confused, but tried to help anyways.

"When is your birthday? It'll tell me if you are a 5th or 6th year." The smile never left her face, Alina was starting to get weirded out.

"July. I just turned 16." She narrowed her eyes slightly when the woman began to nod.

"Ahh the strange summer birthdays. My husband has one too, a june baby. I believe you might be a 5th year, that means you are with my son!" She gave a laugh, and took Alina's arm in hers, leading her to a wall.

"You'll run right at the wall and pass onto 9 and 3/4. You'd better hurry, the train leaves in 5 minutes." She ushered her to the wall, and Alina decided to just go for it for once, and she, well, walked through a wall. The amazement she felt dissapated when she saw all the people staring at her as she walked.
