Her Magic

Alina woke with a start, her whole body screaming in alarm. She practically threw herself out of bed, despite the pain, and heard a thump and a groan from the other side. She carefully walked to the other side of the bed, dagger raised, and a hand where her gun would be, only to see a groaning Scorpius.

She gave him an exasperated look and threw her dagger at the wall above his head, it stuck, inches above him.

"Why were you in my bed? What the hell happened? And why the fuck am I covered in bandages and barely clothed?" She grabbed the neckline of Scorpius' shirt and dragged him up to her face.

"What. Happened." She wasn't asking this time, she couldn't remember a thing and he was the first living thing with a memory she saw.

"Let me go and I'll tell you." He managed to stand so now she was just dragging his face down to her level. She let him go and he sat the both of them back down on her bed.

"What do you remember?"

"Leaving Mcgonagall's office and coming back to shower, next thing I know you've got your arms wrapped around me and I'm covered in bandages."

"Well when you left Mcgonagall's you ran all the way down here and locked both doors. I had to blast the door down when you screamed. Finally you shut the water off and we heard you step out, and then you started screaming and crying. I got the door opened and you were covered in blood Alina, I immediately started casting healing charms. Blaire dressed you, and Theo sent a message to Madam Pomfrey and wrapped you in a blanket."

"You- you helped me? Why? I thought you hated me." 

"No I- I just over reacted. I was scared and didn't understand. Can you forgive me?" She nodded and he hugged her. Alina nuzzled her face into his chest, reveling in the feeling of safety.

"Awwww, aren't they so cute?" They cut short their embrace to see Blaire and Theo sitting up in Blaire's bed.

"Adorable." Theo was a man of few words.

"Come on Minha, let's get you some food." Blaire held out her hand for Alina to take and they walked out together, Theo hot on their tails. Scorpius wasn't far behind. He needed to find a time to talk to the others about Alina's magic. He also needed to talk to his father about what happened in that damn office, because it did something to her.

After they had eaten, Alina went back to the dorm, apparently she wasn't allowed in classes today. Her teachers sent her work by owl and she did it while in bed. She could get used to this, it was nice. Maybe she should talk to Mcgonagall about doing this more often, it wasn't as stressful.

Soon she got bored of being in the dorm, so she headed to the library since she needed some books for assignments anyways. Alina sent a quick note to Blaire letting her know and saying she could meet her there if she wanted.

She found a quaint table in the very back with all kids of cushions. Putting her bag down, she went on the hunt for a herbology book. Potions and Herbology were the only classes she'd have to turn up for at some point, but Professor Malfoy and Professor Longbottom seemed merciful enough that they've been giving her mostly paper work.

Blaire stopped by not long after, giving her notes from classes and dinner, since she had apparently missed it. Alina wasn't hungry though, and the plate went left untouched. She wasn't sure how long she'd been in the library, but soon her homework for the week was entirely finished, and her hand was cramping.

She looked out the window next to her and noticed it was very dark. She quickly packed up her things and made the quiet trek out of the library. What she didn't expect was Scorpius to be waiting for her outside the doors.

"How have you not gotten caught yet?" Alina nudged him with her foot, since he was dozing against the wall.

"Oh I have, but Filch couldn't do anything since I had a note to be here."

"A note?"

He held it up and she recognised his own handwriting, but it was signed with his father's name.

"It's fake isn't it."

"Duhh, but Filch doesn't know that. My handwriting looks so much like my father's he wouldn't know the difference." He scoffed and got to his feet, walking with Alina back to the Slytherin common room.

When the statue moved out of the way, they walked in silently, and neither said a word when Scorpius followed Alina into her dorm. Theo was already in the room, sleeping next to Blaire. Alina made a mental note to clean out the dorm next door and expand their own to connect so they could all have their own bed.

Scorpius took her bag from her and grabbed clothes from a bag he had next to the bed. She cleared out a drawer in her dresser and said he could keep clothes in there if he wanted. Then she went into her bathroom and changed. Her bandages had already started to fray and come undone so she went to try and undo them, but was unsuccessful.

She shyly walked out of the bathroom in shorts and a sports bra, "Hey Scorp? Can you help me take the bandages off, they itch." He swallowed nervously and nodded, going to silent work on undoing the bandages.

Her scars and new wounds had turned to their normal dark brown color. She decided that she didn't want to worry about a scratchy t shirt since her skin was still tender. She crawled in bed and waited for Scorpius to get in too, but then noticed him trying, and failing to get comfortable on the floor.

"Scorp. What are you doing?"

"Trying to go to sleep." He answered with a grunt, apparently the floor was not cooperating.

"Not down there you aren't. Get up here, I don't feel like dealing with you complaining about a sore back tomorrow."

He gave her a look of surprise, but obliged. Suddenly, a shirtless Scorpius Malfoy was in Alina's bed. Scary.

The next morning, Scorpius walked Alina to breakfast. She still wasn't allowed to be in classes but she brought her bag and said she was going to the library after. When she finished eating, she said a quick goodbye and went off.

"Listen, the other day when she was hurt and Madam Pomfrey came, she told me why Alina was suddenly covered in open wounds."

"Wait what? When?" Blaire suddenly looked up quickly, her attention caught.

"After Alina and you guys fell asleep. I was still half awake so she gave me instructions on how to take care of her, and said Alina's magic had lashed out. She didn't know why, but I was going to speak with my father later about what happened in Mcgonagall's office."

Theo just nodded and Blaire said, "When she screamed the first time, it was when you were yelling through the door Scorp. I wonder if it triggered something..." 

"Oh shit, you- you may be onto something Blaire. I'll talk to my dad first and then we'll have a, restrained, conversation with Alina, yeah?" The other two nodded.

Scorpius waited until it was time for potions, and made sure he was the first one in there.

"Hey Dad?"
