when did it start? a small boy was currently walking in the park. he stopped by the swings and played alone for a while till a small black haired boy with teal eyes called out to him. "hey! excuse me, do you wanna play football with me?" the boy asked as he walked over to (name) with a bright smile.
(name) was confused and surprised on why someone would want to play with him. many kids his age called him intimidating and refused to play with him. (name)'s red eyes sparkled as he immediately nodded in excitement to actually get to play with someone.
the young boy introduced himself as itoshi rin. he was quite talkative and always came out every day to play football with (name) after they had met. (name) never really was interested in sports since he was little but he was getting better and better every time he plays with rin.
the two boys became great friends with (name) hanging out at the itoshi family's home sometimes and playing with rin's elder brother, sae, as well. they were inseparable and always got each others back in a time of need.

"(name)!" a smaller child rin called out while trying to find his best friend, (last name) (name). rin walked around the park while whipping his head at every little sound he hears before finally..
"boo!" a short, tanned, (h/c)-haired boy appeared behind rin with a grin on his face. rin jumped slightly at the sudden appearance of his friend. rin turned around with an angry pout on his face. "you scared me!" rin yelled as he crossed his arms and turned around with his back facing (name).
(name) sighed and shook rin's shoulders. "rinn! stop being grumpy! let's play genius invocation tcg together please or uhm.. football?" rin's eyes shined at the word "football" rin immediately nods in agreement.

sae soon left for spain soon and that fueled the boys to work harder so they can catch up to sae. they worked day and night while also having fun. the two boys grew and grew till they were around fifteen and one day, (name) came over at night to play with rin.
he looked around the home and peeked into rin's bedroom. (name)'s eyes widening when he saw a broken portrait of rin, sae and him winning a trophy in a school's football game and rin's angry face. he felt his heart crack at his best friend's face. (name) called out to rin but rin just pushed (name) away.
that night, (name) never left rin's side. he stayed over like he sometimes did while listening to rin's explanation on what sae had told him after he came back. saying that sae had changed his dream. (name) felt himself growing angry at sae for saying such a thing to rin. but all he can do, is comfort rin at the moment.
as much as rin tried to push (name) away, (name) didn't go and continued to comfort rin by either rubbing rin's back as rin tried to hold back his tears of anguish. as much as rin didn't want to cry in front of (name), he couldn't.
rin's larger frame was holding onto (name) tightly as (name) massaged rin's head to comfort the crying rin. he was sobbing tears into name's shoulder while (name) had his arm around rin's waist and patting rin gently.
after rin calmed down he asked, "will you leave me like nii-chan did?" rin asked quietly while his voice cracked slightly. (name) immediately reassures rin that he will stay with rin and that they can prove to sae together that they aren't lukewarm and beat sae.
it was a promise (name) was willing to keep being the honest and determined boy he is. he'll make sure that he will be there for rin no matter what happens. they ended up cuddling that night like they did when they were younger.

as a year passed and now they were both sixteen and still training hard, (name) was watching football on the tv when the doorbell rang. (name) got off the couch and went to the door. an invitation letter. (name) raised an eyebrow and opened it up. he began to read it carefully and thoroughly. he had been invited to blue lock.
suddenly rin texted (name). (name) immediately placed the invitation letter on the coffee table and grabbed his phone and read the text message from rin. it felt odd since (name) usually texts rin first but whatever.

(name) wasn't sure if he wanted to go at first, but he remembered his promise to rin. that he was going to stick with rin no matter what. through thick and thin. so, (name) grabbed his bags and prepared to leave his home. he was sure that rin and him can get through this if they were together. right? who knows honestly.
