At the Smith residence
Mrs. Kelly and Louis are at the room waiting for their master to finish fixing his clothes.
Mrs. Kelly was fixing James's clothing.
"You have been dragging your feet all day and now you are running late. The dinner tonight is very important so we can't have you looking a fool" Mrs. Kelly jokingly said to James
"Splendid advice but I will finish the rest." James replied to Mrs. Kelly
"Will you really had all day to do it yourself and didn't do a thing." Mrs. Kelly added
James then decided to make his nanny leave the room
"Why do you think I came here to nag you young Master." Mrs. Kelly said while going outside the room
"Sir, will the lady you admire be at the dinner party as well?" Louis asked James
"She is the reason i'm doing this." James stated
"Oh I see, they tricked you into being her escort did they?" Louis added
"Duty is duty, I can put up with this once at least. I want my father to accept Y/n. I can't show him any sign of weakness and I'm still the eldest and only son so I have to act like it." James explained to Louis
Louis offered to help James with his clothes
"Sir let me, I can do it" Louis said to James while folding his sleeves
James raised his hand while Louis fixed his long sleeved shirt
"So you consider Y/n a weakness?" Louis said to James
"When did I ever say that just what are you trying to imply with that comment. More importantly, you should call her miss Y/n. And even if both families do encourage the match. In the end, the couple has to make the choice themselves." James added to what he said
"It depends on how she feels is what you're trying to say." Louis respond
"Right"
"Well, the feeling of a girl in love can be quite dangerous." Louis said to James.
At the Robinson residence
Lisa was helping Eleonor to tie her corset as tight as possible.
"Miss Eleonor, I'm doing my best to tighten your corset but I am afraid I can't pull it any tighter." Lisa worriedly said to Ms. Eleonor
"Just a little bit more" Miss Eleonor insisted
"Miss, It might be fashionable to have a tiny waist but going any further might be bad for you health Miss Eleonor." Lisa said to Eleonor
"I'm fine, give it one more try, you can do it Lisa." Eleonor said to Lisa
Lisa let out a sigh
"Alright Miss Eleonor, but brace yourself." Lisa stated
After a few hours, the Robinson and Smith family arrived at the Melville residence where the occasion was held.
"Mr. James Smith and Ms. Eleonor Robinson has arrived!" The announcer said to the visitors
Count George and Mr. Robinson met Mr. Melville
"Lord Melville, I am so grateful for the invitation." Count George thanked Mr. Melville.
"I am so pleased to have you, I do hope you enjoy yourself tonight." Mr. Melville said to Count George
"I have no doubt that I will, thank you." Count George replied to his friend Mr. Melville
Meanwhile
James Smith and Eleonor Robinson saw Mrs. Melville and decided to greet her.
"You have a beautiful home Lady Melville" James said to Lady Melville
"We do our best to keep it in good order" Mrs. Melville smiled
She then looked at Eleonor Robinson
"Miss Eleonor, you grow more lovely everytime I see you." Mrs. Eleonor smilingly said to Eleonor
"I might say the same, I hope to become as charming a lady as you." Lady Eleonor replied to Mrs. Melville
"My goodness, with such sweet words like those... I dare say you're well on your way." Mrs. Melville giggled while heading towards the crowd
Eleonor then looked at James
"I feel you were forced into this so I do hope I'm not causing you trouble. It was your father who suggested I come tonight. And I accepted without thinking about that much. I may have been a bit presumptuous" Eleonor said whispering to James
"You should not feel that way at all, I'm grateful to have you here. I mean that truly." James response to Eleonor
"I am so happy" Eleonor smiled to James
As they went to have a dance
James remembered the time he and Y/n had their first dance together
"I have noticed you have seemed a bit out of sort recently" Eleonor said to James
"Is that so" James wondered to Eleonor
"Did something bad happen?" Eleonor asked James
"I'm quite well" He replied
At the dinner
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so grateful and delighted that you have gathered here with us tonight. I hope that you all have a wonderful evening. Well then, a toast to your health" Mr. Melville announced as everybody in the dining room raises their glasses of wine.
James and Eleonor both drinked their wine
"I remembered the time I got drunk at my first occasion to attend" James said to Eleonor
"Is that so" Eleonor giggled
Eleonor took another glass full of wine
"Are you sure you're all right Eleonor?" He asked to her
"I'm perfectly fine" Eleonor said to James
Suddenly a man just talked
"What a delight, I must say dining with a young couple like yourselves really takes me back to my youth." The man said to them
"I'm sorry sir but we are actually not a couple" James replied to the man
Eleonor was quitely offended on what James just said
George narrowed his eyes to his son
"Is that so, I am so sorry" The man apologized
After several times, the occasion ended
The Smith and Robinson family goodbyed to each other.
"I'm glad spending my time with you James" Eleonor said as she entered the carriage
James nodded and kisses Eleonor's hand
"Till we meet each other again" James said to Eleonor
Eleonor smiled to James and waved at him
