"You know you should visit my bookshop sometime" Aziraphale said, looking at the black figure sitting beside him on the park bench.
"You say it like I don't drop by to take you on a ride practically everyday" the figure replied, looking rather surprised.
"Nah... not that. I mean why don't you actually come, sit down and READ some of the books? Like actually READ" the angel replied.
"Oh come on angel! You know I don't like reading that stuff" said the demon, hanging his head backwards in mock-disgust "Stories... and poetry... and all that... fluffy stuff. I can't."
"Oh shut it Crowley!" Aziraphale said, looking indignantly at him "You don't like that stuff because you haven't even tried reading it!"
"How can somebody as clever as you be so stupid? I'm a demon for God's sake! ( Can't believe I said that) I don't read fluffy stuff!"
"Okay first of all, you have said that to me for the third time this week and it's starting to sound rather offensive" Aziraphale said with a voice suddenly taut with anger "Secondly, Hell doesn't even want you anymore. Why on earth do you still wanna be a demon?"
Crowley gave out a chuckle and leaned back on the bench. "You're adorable, but I don't think that's how it works. Once a demon, always a demon." Aziraphale didn't reply and just stared across the park.
After about five minutes of complete silence, Crowley turned to Aziraphale.
"Are you fucking serious right now?" There was still no answer from the angel who refused to look at Crowley."Oh come on angel! What are you? Five? You're ignoring me because I refused to read a book?" Aziraphale turned his head farther away and kept his mouth shut.
"Bloody hell!" Crowley stood up in frustration. When he saw that there was still no reaction from the angel, he sat back down in resignation.
"Fine! FINE! I'll come and read a book! Are you happy you little demon?"
Aziraphale's eyes lighted up as he glanced at Crowley's frustrated face.
"Absolutely delighted!" He said, standing up. "And no, I'm not a demon. You are. I'm the exact opposite of a demon to be precise" he said in a matter-of-factly manner, smiling to himself. "Anyway, be there. Tomorrow. 6 o' clock!"Crowley looked up at the angel who stood smiling to himself and gave out a huge sigh. He didn't usually give in to any kind of pressure, but when it's Aziraphale, Crowley rarely lasted more than ten minutes. It was him after all... Aziraphale. An angel. His best friend, as you might call it. "Best friend?" he rethought that last part. They had been friends for the last six thousand years. "Friends?" He turned those words around in his mind once again.
"...more like a six thousand year old situationship..." Crowley muttered to himself grumpily as he watched the angel fix his tartan collar."What? Did you say something?" the angel asked suddenly.
"Nope."
"Are you sure? Because I'm pretty sure I heard a low muttering."
"Get your ears checked angel."
Aziraphale rolled his eyes. "Oh Crowley... anyway, make sure you wiggle your little toesie-wosies into my bookshop tomorrow."
Crowley bared his teeth in utter irritation. "Wh- What the- Why on earth do you talk like that?"
"Like what?" asked Aziraphale, confused.
"Wiggle your little toesie-wosies?!" Crowley hissed at the angel "You have an entire bookshop and yet your vocabulary is that of a five year old. Do you have any idea how irritating that is?"Aziraphale squinted at the demon with a faint trace of a smile near the corner of his mouth. "I forgive you, Crowley."
"Oh shut it!"
"Be there. Tomorrow. 6."
"Yeah yeah...." said Crowley, waving his hand in the air. Then, he glanced beside him just in time to see Aziraphale walking off on his own. "Oye! Wait! You're going off on your own?! Can I drop you somewhere?"
"Nope!" Aziraphale called out from a distance "Just be there tomorrow!"
Crowley kept staring at the white figure as it hopped its way across the park and before long vanished into thin air. "Shit!" Crowley thought to himself "Now he's gonna make me read that stupid fluffy stuff... ah well... at least I'll be able to watch him eat cake..." He banged himself on the head. "Ah stop... stop thinking about him Crowley! It's been six thousand years for Hell's sake! Nothing has happened in all these years and nothing's gonna happen now..."
Crowley got up, fixed his sunglasses and started walking towards his Bentley.
