Prologue

Prologue 🏍️

Bruce wiped the sweat off his forehead as he made his way to the refreshment table, his heart racing from the excitement of his seventh birthday party. The afternoon sun beat down on the backyard, filled with colorful decorations and the laughter of children.

As he reached for a glass of lemonade, his eyes caught sight of a familiar face in the crowd. Asryn Cervano, with her wild curls and mischievous grin, stood by the swing set, watching Bruce with a mixture of curiosity and amusement.

Without a second thought, Bruce approached her with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "Oi, Asryn! Gusto mong maglaro tayo?" Tanong ng batang si Bruce.

Asryn raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Ano bang klaseng laro iyan, Bruce?"

Bruce smirked, feeling a surge of confidence. "It's called 'Birthday Surprise.' Close your eyes and I count to three, and when you open them, I'll give you the best birthday surprise ever."

"Eh hindi ko naman birthday eh. Bakit ako isusurprise mo?" Inosenteng tanong naman ng batang si Asryn.

"Basta, ano game?!" Excited na wika naman ng bata.

Asryn hesitated for a moment before giving in, closing her eyes and counting to three. Bruce swiped his tongue over his lips nervously, his heart pounding in his chest. This was his chance to impress the girl who had always fascinated him.

"Bibilang na ako ng tatlo...

....Isa,

....dalawa,

...tatlo."

Asryn's eyes fluttered open, expecting a gift or a surprise. But instead, she found Bruce standing inches away from her, his cheeks slightly flushed, and before she could react, he leaned in and planted a quick kiss on her lips.

Napatigil si Asryn sa gulat, ngunit agad itong nauwi sa galit. Bigla na lamang sinuntok ni Asryn sa mukha si Bruce na nagdulot ng sakit kaya napa-iyak ang batang lalaki.

The tears welled up in Bruce's eyes as he turned and ran away, feeling embarrassed and hurt. Asryn stood there, her chest heaving, shocked by what had just transpired. Deep down, she felt a pang of regret for her impulsive actions, but it was too late.

Dumaan ang mga taon sila ay lumaki na at muling mag ku-krus ang kanilang mga landas. Ang alala ng araw na iyon nung ika-pitong kaarawan ay mananatiling nakaukit sa kanilang mga isipan.

Little did they know that their lives were about to intertwine once more, in ways that would challenge their perceptions of love, friendship, and the thrill of adventure. The wild motocross racer and the fearless independent woman were destined to collide, igniting a fire that neither of them could resist.

And so, their journey begins – filled with adrenaline, heart-pounding escapades, and the undying question of whether Bruce can tame his wild side and show Asryn that he's the adrenaline rush she's been searching for, or if his fearlessness will ultimately be his downfall.
