The morning hits me in my face. I walk downstairs and see all the maids running around frantically.

"Is everything ok?" I ask

"Miss, today is the ball. You'll be leaving in 2 hours" After she said that I ran to the room full of maids so they could work on my hair and makeup.

It takes about an hour and a half to finish my look. I walked into my room along with my handmaidens behind me to help. They help with the corset by taking too much air out  of my lungs. I look into the mirror and stare at myself. I don't know if I want to be this girl forever. It gets tiring having to always suck up to people.

"Are you ready?" Caspian knocks on my door. He is wearing a green tie to match the dress. He honestly cleans up nice.

"Yes" I smile and we walk to the carriage. Here we Go.

As we approach the castle I look into the sky and all that's above us are stars. I see people going in and being announced. I start to worry if this was a good idea or not. The feeling in my stomach is churning. Caspian gets out and comes to my side to take my hand, and this time I let him. We are greeted by the announcer

"And you are" the older man says

"The king and queen of shorerise" Caspian speaks up

"Ok, you're good  to go"

we walked into the castle and it looked amazing. It is way different from the time I was here. There are little dim lights floating in the air and the top of the castle displays the all the stars in the dark sky. The color scheme is black, silver, white, and deep dark purple, circle tables with black cloth cover them for the dinner that will be served in who knows how long. As I look around everyone is dancing and laughing. More people are here than I thought.

We make our entrance, and so far no signs of Alexander.

As we head down the stairs people stop to stare at me. Of course they would. Caspian picked the dress that would stand out the most. I keep my head low trying not to make any serious eye connect with the judgmental men and women that are attending. Everyone continues dancing after they get a good enough look at me.

"Would you like to dance?" Caspian holds his hand out.

I agree and we start dancing to the sound of an upbeat but darker music sound. I feel fine, my body feels fine, I'm fine because I am sticking to my plan......that is until I see him. He doesn't seem to see me, thank goodness.

He is talking with a group of men and a few women, but there's one thing that catches me off guard. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, a girl version of Caspian if you ask me. She's every bit of perfect.

A fire builds up inside my stomach and throat. Jealousy, maybe. Depends on who you ask.

"A you ok dear" Caspian asks me, and of course I say yes, it's not like I can speak the truth about how I really feel.

The music changes to the song we rehearsed and to my surprise lots of couples left the dance floor. Maybe they didn't remember it...

"Let us dance again" He says

"I forgot how to dance to this one" I lied.

He shrugs his shoulders and I walk off. My eyes wonder where Alexander's spot was. He isn't there anymore. Not that I care, but I wonder where he went off to.

I stand off to the side while Caspian dances with another woman. I watch as so many people look happy. I might find myself happy eventually I think to myself. I watch as Caspian heads to the center smiling and laughing.
