"Holy crap. Did the Paradox Corridor...just finish my sentence?" asked Andrew nervously. Once again, the Paradox Corridor responded to him.
"Well, of course I did. What, did you think I was going to let you "pass on by", insulting me like that? I am no ordinary door, and you should know that by now." Andrew looked like he was about to faint. Suddenly, Amber began to laugh, her high, echoing laughter bouncing off the walls, creating a sort of tinkling melody of laughter that enraged Andrew.
"Hey!" said Andrew, ignoring the awesome echoes of the room, "Don't laugh at me!"
"Its...It's just...so funny!", Amber replied, laughing between every word, "I didn't expect the Paradox Corridor to be so...snarky."
"You heard the custodian," replied the Paradox Corridor, "I have a will of my own. And where there's a will, there's an attitude."
"It's good for everyone to act their own way, even machines," said the custodian smiling.
"Anyways, the reason why the custodian knows about the planet where I come from is because I told him about it," explained the Paradox Corridor.
"That makes sense...I guess. I think. Does it?" asked Amber, a bit confused.
"But answer me this," said Andrew, "How did you get here? To Earth, I mean." The custodian answered for it.
"It doesn't remember", he said, "That's when it's power was removed."
"However, I do know what happened beforehand, ever since I was created. It's a long story, but definitely one worth hearing, if you have the time," said the Paradox Corridor.
"Time?...Wait, time! What time is it?!?" asked James in alarm, suddenly realizing how scary it would be for Bob if three kids just straight up disappeared on the trip. "It's been forever! We have got to get back!"
"Hey, uh, James?", said Andrew, "It's only 9:30."
"What? There's no way. We were running from that...thing for like an hour. Not only that, but we've been standing here for a while. So how has only 30 minutes passed?" asked Amber, completely confused. They sat their for a moment, no one knowing what to say. Then, the Paradox Corridor "spoke up", or rather, 'typed up.'
"Amber, have you ever wondered how I even came to this time in the first place?", it asked.
"Well, no, but what does that matter?" asked Amber. "That has nothing to do with..." Her voice trailed off.
"But of course it does!", exclaimed Andrew, twirling around in a moment of recognition, "It's called the Paradox Corridor. If it has to do with Paradoxes, it has to do with-"
"Time!" yelled both Amber and James at once. James turned to the custodian.
"Are we right?" He asked. The custodian smiled.
"Yes, you are correct. Good deduction, you three."
"Yes, as you guessed my functions revolve mainly around time, as well as just looking snazzy for the ladies," said the Paradox Corridor. The custodian rolled his eyes in a moment of un-custodian-like behavior.
"How about you tell them your story?" he asked.
"Sure thing, boss," replied the Paradox Corridor, "Alright, here goes..."
