“Mommy, wake up, pleasseeeee.” The girl bounced up and down on her mother’s soft bed apparently attempting to awake the sleeping body.

“Wha- What are you doing Liberty?” The woman mumbled still half asleep.

“It’s my birthday Mommy.” Liberty answered softly as she landed onto her mother’s bed once more.  The woman got up slowly and rubbed her eyes trying to wipe away the sleep, when Liberty grabbed her mother’s hand and pulled her down the flight of stairs into the simple living room.

“Hold your horses!” The mother shouted attempting to calm her only child down.  “Now close your precious little eyes.” Her mother coached and began walking out to the garage to receive a wrapped box.  Liberty did as she was told, she loved to receive gifts although they didn’t have much money, and her father had left them when she was 2 years old.  But now she was 7 and was big girl or at least in her mind she was. Her mother stepped in slowly carrying the gift behind her back.  Liberty heard the gentle footsteps and her eyes shot open like any normal little kid would do and squealed.  Her mother only smiled and handed the eager child the wrapped gift.  The little girl giggled and began tearing the box to shreds.

“Happy Birthday!” Her mother shouted over the sounds of the paper ripping. Liberty finally got to the box and lifted the lid, and stopped at what she saw.  It was an antique doll with light brown hair and a small and thin body dressed in a light pink dress.  But what caught the child’s attention wasn’t the fact that it was a doll at all, but its eyes those dark enchanting beady eyes.  She felt like she was being sucked in.  She couldn’t stop staring at those eyes although her mother always told her not to stare.  When all of a sudden she faints sending her mind into nothingness, nothingness except for those painful alluring eyes.
