Liberty moved slowly through the house partly from her stomach which she felt was going to explode and partly because of the drowsiness and heaviness weighing down on her eyelids.  She walked into her room and turned to the closet and taking the first night gown she saw off the hook.  She let it fall to the floor as she stripped her ripped jumper off her bare back and she slipped on the dress, much too tired to bathe that night, she felt the softness of the cloth brush her back and she felt happy about today she had so much fun.  Walking she then jumped into her big white bed with pinky flowery blankets and she hugged the stuffed-dog that sat to her side, his name was chip, for no reason other than she liked that name, she would get a real dog one day when she was big but for now Chip was all she had.

“Liberty?” Her mother all wide-eyed came into the room shaking.

“Mommy I’m in bed see?” She said as if she were proving her good behavior, oblivious to the worry and concern in her eyes.  Her mother nodded and then simply kissed her for- head goodnight and walked out shutting the door and lights off as she left.  Liberty lied her head down and smiled thinking of the day.  When all of a sudden she heard the faint tapping of tiny footsteps and sat up looking all around her but all she found was darkness.  She couldn’t be imagining things, was she crazy? That would explain the dreams. Ugh those dreams she thought she shuddered remembering how upset she was.  She heard again the tapping and now she was terrified. “Who-Who’s there?” She whimpered as she looked into the darkness.

“You tried to get riiidd of me.” An evil voice appearing out of nowhere, singing.  Liberty knew that voice; it was the voice of the doll. But still she would pretend to not know anything.

“Who are you?” She mumbled terrified that she might be right.

“Nobody loves you; everyone hates you, their all out to get you, so just run.” The cruel voice rang out and Liberty was almost in tears.

“Stop, please stop I am loved, my mommy loves me.” The clear liquid falling from her eyes into her toy that she was grasping.

“No one loves you.  I could love you. I would be the only one.”  The voice announced as if proposing an agreement.

“My MOMMY LOVES ME!” She screamed into the pillow as she sobbed more and more by the second.

“YOUR MOTHER HATES YOU! SHE IS ACTING!” The doll screamed back now becoming irritated and annoyed but still invisible in the darkness.

“Shhh... My mommy will hear you.” She said still crying.

“Your mother is too drunk to hear a word out of my mouth.” The voiced simply said. “If you do not fulfill this task, I swear I will do exactly to your mother that you did to me.” The doll started to sound angrier.  Liberty sobbed even harder as she thought back to shoving the metal tip of the scissors into the eye of the doll.

“What do you want?” She could barely get it out.

“See be a good little girl.” The doll joked amused by it all.  “You will kill tonight and you will take their eye!” The doll’s voice got louder and louder now booming in her ear.  She turned and she saw the doll now that her eyes were used the darkness. The doll was sitting on her pillow with a creepy smile plastered onto its lips.  It’s left eye gone.

“No, No I WON’T!” She shrieked at the doll watching its hand slowly meet the space where its eye once was.

“Ok, then mommy will be like me.” It said and hopped down from the bed and slowly walked to the door

“NO, NO FINE I WILL!” She choked out into a loud scream. The tears were rushing from her eyes.  That cruel smile got bigger, wider, and scarier.

“Once it will be hard, twice better but with guilt, three times easy, four times a pleasure, and five and more times an ADDICTION!” The doll said as if it were reciting this from much practice.  Liberty cried some more. “Don’t worry we’ll get to five.” It said again losing its patience. “Let’s go.” The doll said simply and tossed her a sharp knife.
