Island

"We got him, kill the rest." The alpha ninja glanced at the people in the police station and ordered the other ninjas. When he tried to kill the girl with red hair, he was stopped by another man in a red mask. "We'll take this one with us too." He said. The alpha ninja followed his words and took the red hair girl.

When Barbara Gordon opened her eyes again, she was on an island, in the middle of nowhere. She looked down, seeing her hands tied, and her father next to her, also with tied hands. Surrounding her were ninjas. The ninjas parted and cleared a path for a man. “Ra’s al Ghul.” Jim Gordon whispered to his daughter. The man came closer to the father and daughter, accompanied by his daughter, his baby grandson and an unknown person in a red hood.

“Hello commissioner. And I see your daughter is with you.”
“What do you want!?” Commissioner Gordon yelled.
“A two-week vacation for you.” The demon head answered calmly. But of course, he wouldn’t be so kind to them, he wanted to cause a distraction for the police. Looking for their chief, they won’t be able to conjure his plans. And the Bat will be busy looking for his old friend.

Barbara clearly knows taking her is for her to become a hostage. Her father might choose to risk his life to warn the Bat, but he couldn’t risk hers.
“Two weeks here, then we will free you.” Ra’s al Ghul said. “And do not try to escape, you can’t. It will just kill you. And we are holding your life and your daughter’s life hostage, dear commissioner. Red hood will be your bodyguard.”

“Bodyguard? You mean a spy, to keep an eye on us.” Barbara tried to make her thoughts less obvious.
The ninjas took them to a shelter on the island. They could move around on the island, but not to leave the island. Commissioner Gordon wasn’t feeling well, they gave him something weird to drink, and he was old.  They provided them with clothing, food and water.  Barbara took care of her father, and did some investigating on this island.
Every day she sat on the beach, trying to get some information. She saw Ra’s al Ghul’s departure. Her daughter was still on the island, so was the man in the red hood. He monitored her, and reported to Talia on her actions. Barbara gave him a death stare every time she saw him, an unwelcome greeting.

A week went by, and the red head still hadn’t gotten a clue. She walked slowly to the beach as usual, holding a book in her hand. Surprisingly, the red hood was there already, staring at the deep blue sea. His eyes were filled with sadness, instead of anger. “Weird.” Barbara thought. The red hood still stared at the sea, not noticing her arrival.

“Not trying to interrupt you staring at the sea, but… it was weird, even for weirdos who wear hoods in summer. I mean, does being a ninja solve global warming? How could you all wear long sleeved clothing in this kind of temperature? And the need to carry your weapons everywhere…” When she started talking, she had no plan for stopping.
“You… You look familiar, it’s like… I’ve seen you before… With Grayson…“ It was the first time Barbara heard him talk.
“Oh my Goodness what the heck you can talk? Wait Grayson? Whaaaa…” Slightly overreacting, the red head carefully thought of what he said. “Does he mean Dick Grayson? My best friend? Nightwing? Wait… do they know I’m Batgirl?”

“My memories… seem to come back to me…” He said, and fell on the ground with his hands covering his head and screaming in pain. His memories of Joker were haunting his head.
It was like going through his pain again.

“Are you okay?” the redhead asked, anxiously. There was no response, he had passed out. “...” Barbara moved him under a tree, as he fell asleep on her shoulder. “I hate you.” She muttured.

By the time the sun sets, the red hood woke up finding his head on Barbara’s shoulder. “Good, you’re awake. Now I have to soak my shoulder in alcohol.” She said. He immediately searched his pockets, seeing if his communication device was still there.
“I didn’t take anything.” Barbara said, pretending to be innocent. She used it to contact Batman, and she put it back. So technically, she didn’t take it. He got up and ran away, without a word.

Soon, the Bat jet swung in. The bat family started taking out ninjas. Barbara ran to the jet with her father, and saw a black and red figure blocking their way. She went fighting him, and told her father to escape. In the chaos, Barbara tackled him. At the moment she was about to run, he grabbed her leg, but let go without hesitation. Repaying her for renting her shoulder.
Jason stood at the beach alone, looking up, as the jet left.
