Mistaken Love

The Pool

It was June 17,2014, Jackie was in her room on a bright summer day. Her brother, Zach, is fifteen years old and he invited a few of his friends from high school over. They were Jimmy, Kyle, and David. He has known them since he was in sixth grade so she was familiar with them. She also had a huge crush on David who was actually older, he was sixteen. She thought that she would never go out with him and he would never like him because she was insecure and younger. "Why would he want an ugly and tiny girl like me when there are much prettier girls in high school, I will never be with him and he'll never like me the way I like him." She didn't know the type of girls he liked but she knew it wasn't her. She was shy and she was going to eighth grade. He was going to eleventh grade. Jackie felt fed up with all her thoughts so she decided to go outside and dip her feet in the pool. Turns out that her brother and his friends were out there in the pool. She wanted to leave, she felt uncomfortable around them. But, they didn't let her. "Come inside," David said. "No, never. She's my little sister that's gross," Zach insisted. "Stop being a jerk Zach, come on Jackie, come inside." Kyle commented. "Whatever, come in. If you guys want her to." You could tell Zach was getting annoyed. She wasn't sure if she should go in. "You know maybe I'll go in a bit later." "We won't be in later, we're in right now. Come on, we don't want to miss you" David said. "Fine." She said, blushing so hard that she had a bright red face. She put on her cutest bathing suit. It was a black bottom and the top was black and red chevron pattern. It was a bikini. She doesn't wear bikinis often because she thought she was too fat but she thought that they'll focus more on the bathing suit then the body fat. She went outside and jumped in, they treated her like they were a part of their family. She was loving it. She was near David most of the time, admiring his glory. He put his arm around her in a loving kind of way, he looked at her a lot, he said to her "You look gorgeous in that bathing suit." For the first time in years, she felt beautiful.
