The Party

They arrived at eleven. The party was at a huge club house. There were people dancing, couples making out, and people spiking drinks. "Don't drink the punch." David said to them. "Hey David!" Melissa said. Melissa was David's ex-girlfriend. Jackie could tell it was her because she's been to Jackie's house many times. She didn't know whether to hate her or thank her. Hate her for breaking David's heart or thank her for breaking David's heart and causing them to kiss. "Hey.... Melissa." David gave her the face of disgust. "Who are they?" Melissa said. "They look ten years old." She whispered to David. "This is Jackie, my date. And she is Kristen, her best friend." Jackie's heart was pounding. "Oh, hey! Jackie! Your Zach's little sister! Come on, let's talk, you know girl on girl talk." Melissa said. "Oh yeah, can I bring my friend Kristen along?" Jackie said. "Oh no, I'm fine. I'll just go on the dance floor, we'll meet up in a few." Kristen was being really chill about this. So Melissa took Jackie to the back of the club house where couples were making out.
"So... You're here with David? Even though he's like three years older than you..."
"Yeah, he invited me to come with him."
"I can tell... Well, do you think he's still interested in me?"
"Well, you dumped him, hard. I'm not sure."
"Oh, okay. I just thought he brought you as a date so he could have me back but- you know, it's whatever."
"Wait what?"
"Oh nothing, look! Go dance with your friend!"
Jackie didn't believe what Melissa said. She was just trying to bring her down, it was useless to even thing about it. So Jackie went on the dance floor when someone who seemed drunk stopped her and said "You must he the girl David came here with. You know that he's just using you to get Melissa back right?" Jackie now believed what they were saying. The guy who she has liked for years is USING her. Her eyes started to tear up, she believed that she WAS easy. That people can just take her for granted. The tears ran down her cheeks and she ran, ran so fast out of the building. Kristen saw this and ran after her. "Jackie! Jackie! Come back Jackie!!" Kristen yelled. "The guy I liked for years is making me feel useless! I'm done, just leave me alone!" Jackie sat against a brick wall and Kristen sat next to her. "It's okay, he's a jerk. He doesn't deserve your time. He's the only one who should be feeling terrible for making you feel this way." "But why? Wh-" Jackie couldn't finish her sentence, the tears were now rolling down her face super fast. "Jackie, Jackie?!" David yelled.
