*Third person POV*

"Huh?", everyone pondered about the voice which greeted Ash and Misty, as the two turned around to see another familiar face: Brock!

"Hey, it's Brock!", Ash exclaimed, and ran over to his friend, so did Dawn and Misty. Happily, they greeted Brock with bright smiles and hand-shakes. "Brock, what are you doing here? If you're here, then who's taking care of the Pewter Gym?", Ash asked. "Oh, well, don't worry about that since one of my brothers, the oldest one, Forrest, is taking care of the gym. Flint and Lola, my parents, are assisting him whenever he needs.", Brock explained. "Cool! So Forrest is a Gym Leader now?!", Dawn exclaimed. "Oh yeah. Guess I never told you!", Brock laughed. That was when the four friends noticed the confused faces of their Unovan friends.

"I guess you'd request an introduction. This here is Brock. He was the Gym Leader back in the Pewter City, the holder of the Boulder Badge. His gym specializes in Rock types. Brock is a close friend of ours who used to travel with me and my friends through Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh.", Ash introduced Brock to the crew, as Brock smiled and said a friendly greeting. The Unovans introduced themselves as well, followed by a joyous Pikachu jumping up on Brock's shoulder, as a sign of happiness after meeting a friend. "You look in a good condition, Pikachu! I bet Ash has been taking great care of you!", Brock complimented, petting the Pokemon's cheeks, who purred in response.

"So Brock, what are you doing in the Cerulean City anyway?", Misty asked. "Well, I came here because I wanted to take a break from being a Gym Leader and wanted to train my Rock type Pokemon in such a way that they can defeat Water types, since Water usually beats Rock. I figured that since Misty is a Water type trainer and a good friend, I could seek some help from her. I went to the gym, and got to know that you have went out for a day with your friends, Daisy mentioned that one of them were Ash. So I came as fast I could to have a little meet up! Though, I never expected to see Dawn here..", Brock explained and then looked at the blue-haired cheery girl. "Well, I decided to pay Ash a visit in Unova, and learnt about his plans of showing us around Kanto! So, I got really excited and joined them on the trip!", Dawn replied. "Pip-Piplup!", her Piplup supported her point with an affirming expression.

"Well Brock, I'd gladly teach you some tricks by which you can deal with Water type match-ups.. But for right now, I've got some business to do. Hey, Trip! I haven't gotten my tail off of you yet!", she yelled at the quiet guy, who just stared at her in an annoyed way. "You're still after the battle? Come on, that's just stupid. You're wasting both mine and yours time. Quit it.", he replied. ".... Is it because you're.. scared?", Misty asked smugly. Trip gave her the side-eye and stood sternly. "Scared of someone from Kanto? I've never heard a better joke!", he laughed sarcastically, which made Misty angrier. "Shut up and battle me! Let's see if you can what you say!", she yelled. Trip tauntingly giggled and nodded. "Uh..", Brock questioned. "I'll explain.", Ash offered his friend some explanation. In about seven minutes, Brock was internally fuming and offended by the words of Ash's rival. "Stupid! People from Kanto aren't boonies! Who does he think he is!?", Brock angrily growled. "Right now.. We're about to witness a battle between him and Misty. And I hope she wins.", Ash said.

The next minute, Misty was standing on a rock in between of the Cerulean River. "What's with that?", Trip questioned. "Sorry but I don't think a fish can live outside water!", Misty sneered, highlighting the need of a natural environment for Water type Pokemon. Seeing this, Trip also leaped onto a rock opposite to that of Misty, yet pretty far apart. "Let's settle this. I'll show you that Unova's a bajillion times better than Kanto.", his words made Misty rage, which she decided to put to use in the Pokemon battle. "I can referee!", Brock offered and stood on the riverbank, between the two competitors.

"Okay Gyarados, Misty chooses you!", Misty threw out her PokeBall, out of which emerged a big, blue monster-like Pokemon with a giant mouth and sharp teeth. "So this is a Gyarados..", Bianca murmured and took out her PokeDex. "Gyarados. The atrocious Pokemon. A Water and Flying type, and the evolved form of Magikarp. This Pokemon has fangs that can tear through rock, and scales that are as rigid as steel.", said the PokeDex. "Hm. Serperior, let's go!", Trip sent out his Serperior, gaining the upper hand in terms of types. "Gyarados versus Serperior. Battle begin!", Brock called an official start to the battle.
