« This chapter is all about Nessa and Rydel's trip to Canada»

Rydel's POV

We landed safely in Canada. My social media was blowing up, since I was pictured in LAX. I told my mom. Only my mom, Nessa knows that I told her. My mum was sad, angry and anxious at the same time. Sad because she wasn't able to be like an actual grandma to her first grandchild, caring and pestering Vanessa about the baby. Angry at Riker and Nessa for keeping their relationship in a secret, and at Nessa again because she fled the country with the baby.

We were in a taxi heading to Vanessa's apartment. She told me that we would go there, get settled and then I can ask her any questions I want to ask her, and then I get to see my niece.

Nessa's apartment was quite large, it had 2 bedrooms though. One of them was hers and the other one was in progress to become a baby room. I was excited but at the same time sad, because I had become an auntie but I didn't feel it because Vanessa didn't have a bump, the baby didn't have a sonogram. And so on.

I unpacked. Nessa told me that I would be sleeping in the living room, because her sofa extended to a double bed. After unpacking, I went into the kitchen to find coffee mugs. I sat down and sighed. Nessa came into the kitchen and sat opposite me. She nodded, telling me she was ready to tell me all about it.

"Look Ness, I don't want to ask you any questions. I just want to tell you that tomorrow night is my flight back to LA." It hurt to say it but I had a plan up my sleeve.

"Okay, shall we go see her now?" She asked

"Yes, lets go!" I smiled

We took a taxi there, because Vanessa said she doesn't think she will be stable when comimg back, and I didn't want to drive in Canada. No offence.

We went through the Hospital, through the automatic doors and up to the receptionist.

It seemed like the receptionist knew who Vanessa was because when we came up to her she asked "280802?" Nessa nodded and she was handed a card.

She guided me to a elevator which we scanned the card in and a few minutes later we heard a ding!. The doors opened.

This level of the clinic/hospital was darker than usual. The corridor only had doors no windows. A receptionist was at the end of the corridor. A door labeled Nurses was on my left. I looked at Nessa. She was slowly walking down the corridor, me close behind her.

We came up to a door labeled 280802 just like the card. Nessa scanned the card next to the door and we heard a ping! She gripped the door knobe. You could hear a machine working from inside. No light was visible. Nessa handed me a face mask. I put it on and then we were completely inside the room.

As I saw the things infront of me I started to tear up. An incubator was covered in layers of black cloths nothing was visible. You could see all the wires coming out of it leading to numerous machines. On my left was a computer. It showed the inside of the incubator. Nessa sat infront of it and started bawling her eyes out.

Inside the incubator it didn't look as if a baby was in it. You could only make out a figure but it didn't really have a shape.

"I come here, everyday. I talk to her. How I love her. How its just me and her. How I will call her Raylene Hope Lynch because she was my hope in all this, and that her surname will be Lynch because she at least gets to know her father's surname. I love you baby." She finished while stroking the computer screen. This tore my heart.

After talking with the baby I made an excuse to go to the toilet but I was actually heading to the doctors office, to...discuss somethings.

I knocked twice before coming in.

"Hello? Oh hi. I have come to talk about baby number 280802." I said

He gestured for me to sit.

"Yes, how may I help you? And whats your relations with the patient?" He asked

"I'm the patients a-auntie, and I would like to talk about hospital transfers. If we could transfer her to an LA hospital maybe?" I was hoping his answer was yes.

"I- This might be risky, if its my air ambulance it will be fine just in time. I know that LA hospitals do have the facilities to look after the baby. But we need full permissiom from the mother. And the father. But as we don't know him, just the mothers will be fine."

I nodded. I said that I will come back with Nessa in a few minutes.

We...just came out of the doctor's office. Nessa was stubborn at first but let's say the doctor and I are persuasive.

Let's just say, my niece is taking her first flight tomorrow.

I would like to let you all know that all this about the incubator and hospital is FICTION. Please don't search up anything to do with this.

I love you all- Jx
