Tris POV
I looked up and saw my mom, I quickly got up and tried to run away but she was quick to grab my wrist right before I left her
"can we please talk" she says, she is hiding something I really don't know what, I just know there's something
"ughhh Fine!" I said, a little bit irritated
She pat the bench next to her telling me to sit down next to her, I sat down and for a moment I actually felt complete, like something that was taken from me before has been given back, I looked at the river and realized what it was,
It was my mom, the person who I thought disowned me because I wasn't the 'perfect smart kid' for them, the person whom I tried to avoid because i thought they love Caleb more, He was always the kid who always get straight A's and would participate in everything unlike me, who is just a antisocial brat who got into a stupid accident and forgot everything in her mind
We sat there in total silence until my mom finally decided to brake it
"so what did your friends tell you so far?" she asks without looking at me
"only the part that Tobby, Uriah and I were playing one day and Tobby said he likes me" the last part sounded weird but I could care less
"do you want me to tell you the rest of it?" she says finally staring at me
"only if you want to" I know she is probably tired from work, and came all the way from the hospital just to follow me but i'm really not that interested anymore.
"of course I want to honey, I want to help you remember, we'll get through this together" as soon as she said that my eyes got teary and immediately put her in my arms, a feeling I truly miss since I was a kid
"I love you Beatrice" my mom says
"I love you too mom" the words felt foreign to me since I haven't told anyone that for a long time, I smiled and hugged her back again never wanting the moment to end, this was the moment that I always wanted to have all my life,
A moment where my mom and I can finally talk alone without any interruptions where we actually talk about girl things, boy problems and stuff like that.
My mom pulls away from the hug and gave me a smile
"as much as I never want this moment to end, everybody must've been worried sick since you left" I laugh a little, god I missed her soo much
"hey mom" I said while getting up
"yes honey?" she said a little worried
"can we like eat somewhere and talk?, just the two of us?" I asked, anxious on what she's about to say
"of course honey! I've always wanted that!" she said excitedly while jumping up and down like a little kid.
We walked together towards her car while she was holding me by my shoulders
"I feel like we have some catching up to do" she says while grinning at me
"I believe that true" I said, she smiled at me and kissed my forehead
"now lez go get something to eat!!" she said while putting her hands in the air, we stare at each other and laughed
I never seen her like this, happy and full of life.
So this is what i've been missing my whole life, spending quality time with my mom, I wish we can do this more often, would my life be complete then?, I don't know, but for now I would only like to cherish this moment with my mom.
Mom decided to take me to a nearby tea place, the place looks familiar, like i've been here before. The place looks amazing! it has white cloth draped around it and has an entourage up front
Mom gave the keys to someone for valet and we went in
It is even better inside! the table has candle lights in it, macarrons in the middle of the table, cupcakes in one corner, and teas displayed all over the room.
"I feel like i'm in London!" I said a little louder that expected
"glad you like it" mom said while holding a laugh
A waiter came to show us our table, we sat down and looked at the menu
"mom! I don't even know what half of these foods are!"
my mom started laughing uncontrollably and I joined her, soon there were people staring and giving us weird looks but we are having too much fun to stop
Mom stopped and stared at me while smiling
"so this is the Beatrice i've been wanting to know more about all these years" she says
We ordered our food and drank some tea while waiting for it
God, I never want this moment to end....
