Commotion is overheard in front of Bone Island's temple. Bai blocks Niangzi's above kick with the Bone Scythe, "Ha! You call this training!? I haven't even broken a sweat!" Niangzi smirks, standing in place, "Battle is no place to be arrogant, Bai. You have to stay humble." Niangzi hops off the Scythe, landing gracefully. Bai chuckles, "Alright then, humble THIS!" Bai charges forward, and Niangzi continues stepping back until she reaches the cliff. Bai jumps to deliver the final blow, "Who's gotta be humble now!?" Niangzi smiles, a ritual circle pops behind her, with blunt balls of ice being formed around it. "Still you."

The ice launches to and past Bai, the ones flying past, strike the mountain wall behind Bai, causing a rock slide. Bai is struck with a few remaining ice balls and falls back to the ground. "Oh no." The rocks fall and cover Bai, Niangzi hops off the edge as the boulders continue falling. As it clears, she floats back towards the rocks and tugs out Bai by her legs, "Alright, class commencing. How do you think I won?" Bai scratches her head as Niangzi places her down, "Because... you buried me under a rock slide?" Niangzi nods, "Indeed, but why were you in the way of the rock slide?" "Wha- BECAUSE YOU PUT ME THERE!"

Niangzi pats Bai's head, "No, no, no. I got you where I needed you by putting you where you wanted me." Niangzi puts on a dramatic tone, "It's called... misdirection." Bai gets confused, "That seems like a sketchy lesson." "Too early for that, Bai." Bai falls to her back, "I'll never be as good as you." Niangzi looks down at her, "Not if you mope about it. Now, I think you've done enough today. Class is dismissed." Bai stands and cheers, "Yes! I should probably go, I was planning to hang with Red and that for the fest-" Niangzi swipes the Scythe and taps the floor, an outside scenery with pillows, floor mats, and sweets, poofs into existence.

"Woah. How long have you prepped for this?" Niangzi sits at the edge of the cliff with her legs crossed. She turns to Bai, tapping the floor beside her, "C'mon, Bai. Let's watch New Year's fireworks together." Bai hesitates, "Oh, well, I'd love to, but I should really go back to my... friends." Niangzi gives a content smile back, turning back to the front. Bai gives in and sighs, moving to the edge to sit next to Niangzi, "Ok."

The New Year festival has begun in Megapolis, with food trucks scattered across and the streets filled with beautiful lights. The team sits by a public lunch table, Lin feasts on noodles, and Red sits next to him while on the phone, "Alright, thank you, Mother. Happy New Year's. Bye!" She hangs up and groans, Lin turns to Red, "Was that your mum?" Red wipes his face, "Yeah. I finally convinced her to let me stay with you guys. I'd honestly rather be here than another fancy long dinner." Lin pats their shoulder, he sees Zhizhu, who looked anxious, "Yo, Red. Is it me, or is Zhizhu more stressed than normal... Wasn't Bai meant to be here by now?"

Zhizhu's eye twitches. She snaps at the two, "YES, LIN! SHE WAS! WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE!?" Red shrugs, "Probably still training with the Bone Queen." Red clears his throat, imitating Bai, "She went, "New year, new Bai He! Imma take my training to whole 'nother level!" ...or something." Zhizhu groans, "That girl, I swear." A food crate slams onto the desk, it had small, freshly baked, brown sweets. Chang'e sighs as she places the food, "Good cheer and Happy New Year! I made us some Moon Cakes for the occasion! I got enough to share!"

Red's eyes shine, "Ooh! Those look amazing!" Chang'e looks around, "Hey, where's Bai?" Zhizhu sighs, "Bai's still training with the Bone Queen. Apparently, she is boosting her time spent there." Chang'e giggles, "Ah, I see. Welp, feel free to dive in. This is all for us." Red and Lin do not hesitate to stab their hands inside, already munching on some. As exciting as it all was, none of the citizens were prepared for what was to come.

"Yeah, yeah. Keep cheering. You won't be cheering 'till you see what I got coming..." Ganglie stares above, to the earth blocking him and the citizens, there were, what appeared to be like gas masks dangling on the ceiling. Ganglie walks to a cauldron with royal blue liquid, pulling out a glowing skull. "This is the last few remnants of the Bone Kid's power. This will be my last shot." Ganglie turns to a dark-haired man at digital controls, "You done tinkering, skin tag?" The man groans, "It's Syntax. And, almost, I've constructed what was requested. So long as the elixir works-"
