In the midst of his anger-fueled outburst, Ambrogio's study had transformed into chaos. He vented his rage by hurling various objects against the walls and floor, each crash echoing his fury."Bastard!" His lips quivered with indignation as he unleashed his frustration. A kick to a velvet chair was followed by the violent shove of a vase, sending it shattering onto the ground. The room's serenity was shattered by his uncontrollable wrath.
However, Gianna's timely arrival halted his destructive rampage. Her voice, laced with a mix of concern and reproach, quelled his turbulent emotions. "Ambrogio! Stop it!"
"What are you doing here?" Ambrogio's heavy breathing began to subside as he replaced the vase and ceased his tempestuous assault on the room's decor.
Gianna approached him cautiously, her gaze darting to the scattered debris. "I just had a quarrel with my elder brother and came here to clear my mind. But I never expected to find you in such a terrible state. What the hell happened?"
His voice, now composed in contrast to his earlier explosive outburst, belied his earlier agitation. "Don't ask me that," he retorted curtly.
Ambrogio swiftly shifted his focus to a servant standing near the door. His demand for the room to be tidied up was met with obedient efficiency, leaving the chamber as pristine as it had been before.
"Now, tell me what happened. I've never seen you so agitated," Gianna inquired with a careful gentleness, her concern evident as she observed her cousin.
Ambrogio, despite his initial reluctance to discuss the matter, found solace in confiding in Gianna. He recounted the situation in full detail, from Frediano's refusal to sign the contract to the rift between him and his sons.
Gianna listened attentively, her brow furrowing as she absorbed the information while getting up and going to the table, where a cup was present and an electric kettle. Her lips were curved into a smirk as she looked behind her shoulder, making sure that he wasn't watching her back.
After a contemplative pause, she began to voice her thoughts, secretly taking something out from her pocket. "You mentioned that this person had an agreement with you a long time ago,
"But why would he target that particular company after so many years? There are plenty of other companies in the same industry." Finishing her opinion, she immediately added that to the cup before pouring water into it from the kettle.
Ambrogio shook his head in response, acknowledging his lack of understanding. As he contemplated the situation, he couldn't help but wonder if he had been used as a pawn by this person, manipulated into opposing Frediano.
Gianna's scowl deepened as she delved further into her thoughts while waiting for that to completely dissolve in the water. Seeing her lost in contemplation as her back was facing him, Ambrogio chose not to disturb her. But, if he knew what exactly she was doing minutes ago, he would've already slapped her even if she was his cousin.
Instead, he took his phone and attempted to call the mysterious person once more. After all, what harm could come from trying again? Gianna came to sit down, before offering him the cup of water. She watched him drink it and when he finished, her lips were curled up into a satisfied smile or rather a smirk only she knows.
The stressful night seemed to pass in the blink of an eye, giving way to the arrival of the next morning.
Ambrogio lingered just outside the door, observing his two sons, Nero and Caj, as they prepared for the impending conference. His typically calm demeanor had been replaced by a sense of unease, ever since his discussion with Gianna about a potential plan.
