As soon as he got to work on Tuesday, Man was called to Director Raskorn's office, great way to start the day he thought as he made his way to his superiors office. He approached Raskorn's assistant,
"is he in?" Man asked the girl.
"yes, I'll just see if ..."
"it's ok, I'll take my chances" Man said smiling at her as he started opening the door and just walked inside.
"should have known you wouldn't knock" Raskorn said as he made himself a cup of coffee from his own personal coffee machine.
"you want one?" he asked Man as he walked around to sit behind his desk.
"no thanks, so, what's up?" Man asked, he just wanted to get it over with, he knew it wouldn't be good.
"I had the Department Executive cursing me out because one of my men went to his house harassing his wife yesterday, I'm guessing it was you?" Raskorn said.
"what harassing? she's an old friend, I just called to see how she was after hearing about the divorce and she seemed very pleased to see me so it can't be her who complained about me, let me guess, the housekeeper?" Man said.
"it doesn't matter who it was Man, it's the fucking Department Executive's house, you can't just turn up like that" Raskorn said.
"why, I reiterate, his wife is an old friend of mine, why can't I go and visit an old friend, she certainly didn't mind on the contrary she was quite happy" Man said.
"look, I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about the rights and wrongs of it, he complained about it so I'm telling you" Raskorn said.
"then I'll consider myself told" Man replied.
"how's the Winchitathoom case going?"
"working on it" Man said.
"I'd probably have a bit more done if I didn't need to come in here over stupid shit" Man argued.
"but it's not stupid to him Man and he is our superior after all" Raskorn said.
"Raskorn, you know as well as I do, he's an asshole" Man said.
"whatever my personal feelings, he's still my superior Man" Raskorn evaded committing himself.
"are we done here?" Man asked.
"for now yes, just don't go visiting people unless you have proper clearance" Raskorn added.
Man stood up and nodded before leaving the office, now why would the housekeeper run to Passaranoot to tell him that someone had visited his wife? Did she have orders to report all the comings and goings to him or was he bedding her as well?
Why would it bother him so much the fact that someone went to see his wife anyway unless of course he's hiding something? Man made his way back to his desk to see Gunny and Lam being civil to each other for a change.
He would see Noel tomorrow so he was looking forward to that, he missed him so much. He never thought he would ever feel like this about anyone, true he hadn't trusted him very much in the beginning but now ... he still had to find out what was causing Noel's bad dreams but all in good time, he just had to close this case then he could devote all his time to Noel for a while any way.
Mina was engrossed with something on her computer tapping away at the keypad until she suddenly stopped and looked up at everyone.
"guys, I think I found something, well I was playing around with the alias names and I linked them to a lot of other similar names, it turns out they were created using a kid's anagram game that was popular about 16 years ago, the original name which was fed into the game was Wanarat Renpassaroot, a real person who was a Police Officer in the Royal Thai Police, the interesting thing is they were all generated at the same time from one IP address which was registered to kid called Noel Jongsapasut, the kid according to records would have been about 9 years old at the time"
