Dale led me to a narrow path going deeper into the woods.

He said he was going to show me something.

After quite some time of walking, a waterfall came into view.

Its water shimmered from afar.

I can't wait to go near it!

"Pretty isn't it?" he asked.

"Yeah, very..."

Dale crouched down and sat on the ground.

He patted the space beside him, gesturing for me to come and I did.

His fingertips touched the water and there came a light along with the ripples.

"What're you doing?" I whispered to him.

"Shh! Just look" he said.

The water no longer reflected the two of us...instead, it showed my parents.

They're sitting on the couch of our living room.

I noticed there are many people gathered in the room.

They gave my parents sympathy and pity.

Many flowers rested on top of a long wooden table and I can see a picture of me lying beside it.

I'm guessing they're grieving for my death.

Funny. It didn't look like my parents were devastated at all.

My mother's sitting with poise on the leather couch with Leonard beside her, clutching her palm softly and muttering soothing words to her (which I doubt that she needs).

I wonder if he's actually sad that he loss himself a bride.

Well anyway, his father could always get him a replacement.

"Tell me about them" Dale said.

",Tell me about your...past life" he seemed hesitant about the last part.

"Peachy" I said.

"You don't look too sad about the way things have happened" he pointed out.

"Well should I?"

"...I don't know" he said. ", It's just that most people do"

"In case you haven't noticed, I'm actually different from all the other people"

It's all true. I am different. And No, I don't mean it in a good way.

"I've lived from a different perspective" I explained to him.

"...then would you mind telling me about that perspective of yours?"

"It's complicated" I said with a sigh.

"My ears are open" he grinned.

"You can tell me anything and I swear it wouldn't go out. It's really just between the two of us, I promise!" he said crossing to his heart.

"Well, let's just say that I didn't have a life at all" I hugged my knees to myself and rested my head on top of it.

", well... not my own at least"

"How come?"

"My parents..." Those two words are enough to explain it all.

I looked to him and he just nodded understanding.

"You must've been under a lot pressure, haven't you?" he asked, turning to me.

"Yeah..." I answered.

", They've always pushed me into doing stuffs" I said, remembering those past times when I was still a puppet to them.

"You should've just said no" He said.

"I couldn't" I mumbled in a soft whisper.

'Cause they'd hurt me if I refused to do so, I thought to myself, sinking more to my knees, burying my face under the locks of my curly brown hair.

The memory wasn't a pretty picture at all so I just pushed aside the thought from my mind and decided to change the topic as well.

"How about you?" I said to him. "How was your family?"

Dale only remained silent. His face went blank again and he heaved a silent sigh.

"I have none" he whispered.

"Were you an orphan?"

"No... I just don't have one" he said, picking up pebbles and throwing it to the water.

His eyes looked glassy for a second.

I left the subject alone and just stared at the ripples forming from the pebbles.

"Can I try that?" I asked him, peeking out from the curtain of my hair.

Dale handed me a handful of pebbles and smiled slightly.

It wasn't lively as the ones that he had earlier.

I stood to my feet and got one.

I threw it over my head and into the water.

It didn't go as far as Dale's did.

A pout crept to my mouth and I tried another one.

It still didn't cover up much distance.

I threw another one and another after until I was out of pebbles to throw.

I groaned and grumbled as I sat backo on the ground.

Dale saw me and he only laughed.

He offered me his hand and I only looked at it questioningly.

"Come on, I'll show you how to" he said and I took his hand.

He pulled me up and gave me another batch of pebbles to throw.

He had a hard time teaching me and it took us hours for me to finally learn.

My pebbles were finally closing up to his.

It didn't come up to the same distance, but it was close.

I grinned at Dale and muttered a quick thank you.

I never knew being comforted would feel so nice...

If only I met Dale earlier when I was still alive... (sigh)

Maybe I wouldn't have lived a lonely life...
