"My name is Rose. I'm a friend of Tianas." Was how I eventually introduced myself to her and another guy with partly died and dreaded hair who was sitting on a sofa, smoking a cigarette. He nodded in response. Tia followed: "That's Tony, our youngest. He's our drummer. Oh, and before I forget it, that dude we met at the door is our inofficial leader, founder, and bassist. His name is Felix." Well, maybe I judged him too soon. It takes some willpower getting together a skilled group of people. Tia suggested for me to take a shower and treat my wounds afterward. I lent some clothes from Ria since they were the closest to my size, and yet I struggled putting them on. This body's hips are too wide combined with the fact that I have an F-cup and a small waist. Those normal clothes looked too revealing and well... too sexy on me. When I stepped out, the four of them sat there and seemed to be discussing something. Felix piped as soon as he saw me, and it felt a lot more revealing than it already was. Tiana waved me to take a seat next to her. While she was sanitizing my wounds, Felix kept arguing without taking his uncomfortable eyes off of me: "We can not perform that song without a matching rapper. Ria is incapable of turning all the flows into ballads. It would destroy the vibe." Ria talked back to him: "Do you think writing a song is that easy? We don't have a rapper right now. Unless you want to do it, we either change the parts or the complete song." The arguing continued. I asked Tia what song they were talking about. She responded: "Our contact manager advised us a more hiphop like song and wants us to perform an original rap song. The problem is... none of us are really great at rapping." I thought for a moment. "Can you turn on the beat?" She looked at me for a second and did as I said. As the music started playing, I started tapping, snapping, and clapping along with rythm. The other two stopped their conversation and looked at me as I started throwing some lines to the beat. It was one of the things Rose could do best. She was raised in the definition of hip-hop culture. Freestyle. I focused, and even when the music stopped playing, I finished off the lyrics to my self created beat. Tony started clapping, and the other three looked at me in surprise. Tia was the first to warm up from her stare. "I didn't know you could do that. Felix..." This time, he looked at my face rather than my body. "I think we found our new rapper." I smiled in return. And so I helped Ria with the lyrics for the rest of the night. When morning came, I accompanied my new group to the practice room. I got a message from mother: "Where are you? Come home. Please!" So that is what one would call "toxic love". I don't doubt that she loves me. However, her selfishness showed such splitted behavior. Besides, the only reason she is actually concerned is probably because in the past Rose would just sit in front of the door at her families mercy, waiting for them to let her in. They had power over her, but not anymore. I turned off my screen as we arrived at the studio. It's unbelievable. In the past, the only thing that truly brought me joy was killing and torturing people. Now, I even get a feel of excitement when I see all the musical equipment here. We started practicing and kept doing so for a few hours. My throat was dry afterward, and I was extremely hungry, considering the fact we were practicing on a sober stomach. Tony noticed my tired eyes and suggested the group take a break for breakfast. I agreed gratefully so we went to a restaurant together. You know you can trust your fellows if they let you eat in peace. Ria eventually asked: "You seemed so hungry earlier, but why are you only eating salad?" I chewed the leaves and responded as shortly as possible: "Health reasons." Hoping to leave the topic be, she continued: "Then you have something in common with our leader. You see, he looks tough, and all but he never reaches for alcohol and avoids processed food. More responsible than he seems, right?" I chuckled as she earned a slight push from Felix and gave him an annoyed side eye. "A good body doesn't spawn from sandwiches after all." He responded. Now I was curious. "Do you train or practice something?" Now he looked at me: "Bass and calligraphy." A slight smile on his lips. He knows that's not what I was asking. "What about you?" I reflected his smile. "Piano and calligraphy." He raised an eyebrow in amusement. Tia losened the tension with a short cough. "The tea is too hot. It's summer. Why don't they cool it a bit?" She seemed unaware of the fact that she prevented a challenging situation, but I was relieved. After all, I have enough tension at home already. Oh, that's right... I should be going back home before these crazy lunatics call the cops or something. "Thanks for everything. I need to head back now." Tiana grabbed my arm. "Wait! You shouldn't go back on your own. Just in case... Let me follow you." Before I could deny, Felix already started talking: "No way, that will take too long if you're walking, Nana. We need to keep practicing." She rolled her eyes in defeat. "Then you go bring her unless you want our new rapper to end up dead before we can even perform." He sighed and eventually got up. "Hurry Rose!" I followed him outside. "How would you be faster than Tia?" He gave me a helmet. "We're not walking." I followed him to his motorcycle and couldn't help but pipe. A Kawasaki Ninja. "Are you familiar with motorbikes?" He asked as I got on behind him. "Sorta...I like to drive mostly illegally. It was a Honda CB 250T." He started driving. "Very interesting... that's an old model. You know you remind me of those biker gangs. If they had female members, you might have been one of them." I held on tight to him. He was doing 90 on the freeway. "This description fits you more. For as many tattoos as you have... are you a former gang member?" He chuckled deeply, which I took as a yes. I guess I have to credit him for that. It may have become part of why the other three are willing to follow him. When we arrived and I was about to go in, he stopped me. "I'll be waiting here for five minutes. If you don't come out again, that means you're fine in there, and I can leave. I faced him. "Thank you for the ride, but you shouldn't underestimate me. I can take more than just those scratches and bruises from yesterday." He met my eyes. "Just because you can take it doesn't mean you should. Since I'm your leader now, I care about my members' state. Make sure to remember that. Something I learned back in the days: who dares to humiliate my friends should be praying for God's mercy." It surprised me, but it seems that the concept of loyalty hasn't gone extinct yet. I nodded and finally went inside, prepared to kill if I had to.
