Gon's POV

The checkered flag flew down across the track and we were off.

I slammed my foot on the gas and the car spun off like a jet for takeoff. Our backs smashed into the seats and I could feel the speed pulling at my face,

"OH MY GOD!" Killua screeched over the sound of the tires. He clawed at the door handle and seatbelt to secure himself as we pummeled on the track. I watched the speed mileage increase and nearly fly off the max speed.

My tight grip on the wheel turned my knuckles white and my clenched teeth made my jaw to ache from the pressure. My stomach churned at the fast feeling and the lack of AC in the car. I peeked from my squinted eyes at Hisoka ahead of us, but only by 25 meters. I glared and followed him into the trees, down the chosen path.

I recognized this track as soon as Hisoka mentioned it to the referee. It was named "Track 2", but us racers called it "Death Vally". This path's winners didn't take the glory from their speed, but stealth and skill instead. There were sharp turns, ledges, and so much overgrowth on the track that it was complicated for even the greatest of drivers. Thank god it was me driving instead of Killua. He would have been dead meat.

The car thundered and growled under our feet as it approached the first dirt road exiting the forest. I watched Hisoka's car swerve around the roundabout and speed off to the next path.

I followed him closely and took the roundabout myself. I pull the wheel down and slam on the break and take the sharp turn a little too sharp. Killua slams into the side door with a heavy thud and I nearly slide out of my seat onto the consul.

"Gon CHILL! The door almost opened!!" He yells at me struggling to pull himself back up in his seat. I lunge over and yank Killua back over, nearly onto my lap. He smashes his finger into the nonfunctional door lock, trying to get it to stay down. I ignore his shrieking and continue on the turn. The first ones always the easiest, then the rest get crazy difficult for no reason.

The large car finished the circle and I snagged the wheel straight to get us back behind Hisoka. The Ferrari roared again and dragged up dirt as we sped off, back into the woods. God this thing wasn't made for speed and agility.

"This is insane! How is this stuff legal?!" Killua gasps extending his arms to the dashboard to brace himself as trees flew by outside the window.

"It's kinda fun though Killua!" I holler over the car's rumbling, I peek over to see Killua staring at me in horror. My smile grew larger and my head felt dizzy.

"Fun?! This is fun? No, this is death!" He frowned at me. I laughed out loud, the adrenaline I felt made my heart rate spike and my face get hot and I could tell that Killua was lying. I saw that glint in his eye...

I didn't have time to reply to his quick comment before we suddenly started started driving uphill on a cliff and around a rock ledge, the trees were now beneath us. I swerved the car away from the cliff ledge unexpectedly making Killua jump again. The path grew smaller and I didn't have much room to move the car around in. The rock ledge turned into more loose and stray piles that creeped up on the wheels of the car. On the other side of us was the drop off from the cliff.

I peeked at the fall off to my right and my eyes widened. There was some sort of gorge or canyon under us.

I don't remember this part of the track...

"I didn't know there were canyons this close to the beach in Cali," Killua muttered and looked at the same spot I was. We both took a deep gulp and continued on the trail.

I saw the tail end of Hisoka's car and followed him up the steep slope, then suddenly down the slope. As we picked up speed the road got more rough and we were shaking and rattling. If I were to open my mouth to speak, my chattering teeth would bite my tongue clean off.
