Chapter Six

Kaylie's POV

It was the next day after Paxton and I had kissed , he left about an hour after. I couldn't sleep I kept tossing and turning thinking about the kiss and why he wanted to kiss me in the first place.

Before I knew it , it was the next morning I was tired and exhausted, I got dressed for school not really in the mood to dress up today , so I put on a pair of white sweat pants with my favorite hoodie, and white sneakers. I went over to my makeup stand and put on some mascara and lip gloss, grabbed my bag and keys then proceeded downstairs to head out the door for school, I'll just grab a pop tart out of the vending machine at school.

I got in my car hooked up my Bluetooth of course, jammed out to a little bit of Adele and some Nicki Minaj. Finally got to the school parking lot , it was full of students today , just hanging out before the bell rings for first period. I parked my car in the students parking area and waited until 7:30 to head to my first class which is Mr. S 's class. Today we give our presentation. I really hope we get a good grade on it , I mean I think we've worked really hard on it. Especially our paragraphs on why we even want to go to our dream schools.

*Ding*

Paxton- hey beautiful, are you at school yet?

yeah just hanging in my car until the bell rings 🤍!

Paxton- Can I join?

I chuckle at his text.

Sure why not lol

I wanted to ask him why he wanted to kiss me and if this is one of his games , because if it is I don't want to be apart of it. I either come first or not at all. I was snapped out of my daze when there was a tap on the passenger window, I unlocked my doors so Paxton could get in.

Hey so I actually have a question for you , I wasn't going to even ask it but I have to for my own safety.

Okay what is it ? Said Paxton as he was looking at me with worry. Why did you kiss me? Is this part of a game or bet? 'Cause honestly Paxton, if you truly do like me then you have to know I come first in certain things or this won't work out. I said sternly , trying to be as polite as possible so he doesn't think I'm trying to be a bitch, he's just looking at me, starring.

I actually really like you Kaylie , why would I break your heart? He finally spoke up , but he asked in such a manner. I don't know maybe because you're Paxton Hall-Yoshida, I've heard what people say about you and what you do with girls. You have sex with them and then never talk to them again. I mean it was true , so many people have came up too me and told me to be careful with Paxton.

Before he could even respond to me the bell rang , good thing it was just the first bell and not the final, Paxton and I got out of my car , I unlocked my trunk to grab our post board for our project, Paxton carried it of course, he's actually a gentleman. We headed to class and the first thing Paxton did was put the board down because his arms got tired , but like how ? Aren't you on the swimming team? The captain at that. Don't they make you do a lot of lifting and stuff? I didn't even ask and took my seat next to Paxton and Trent , in the middle of the two.

*Ding*

Paxton- we'll finish our conversation later , because I have to explain myself. The truth for that matter.

Okay !

Was all that I replied back , once the final bell rang , class had finally started when Mr. S came in to start it.

Sorry I wasn't in here everyone , we had a meeting this morning, and wow, I didn't think adults could complain so much ! Mr. S said as he was coming in to start class for today. I'm actually excited for our presentation, Trent got deep in his paragraph.

Okay first up is, Devi's group. Mr. Shapiro said. Ben , Devi, Fab, El, and Eve all got up and took in front of us.

Okay so, for my dream school, I want to go to Princeton. It has always been my dream since I was a little girl and since my dad and I came up with it together. That's why I try so hard to get good grades to come to school every day even when I don't feel like it. Princeton is one of the hardest schools to get into , so yeah I put a little more effort into my chances. Said Devi, as she looked at Ben to start his next. Once they all finished it was finally my group's turn. We went last which , I have no clue why.

We all got up and got in front of the class, I was too nervous to begin, crowds aren't my thing.

My dream is ASU , a lot of my relatives have gone there and I want to make them proud and go to the same college. Most of you think I'm just some hot jock who doesn't care about school, but that isn't true. I work just as hard as most of you to get good grades and push myself just so I can get into this school. Anyways ASU that's my dream school. Said Paxton , wow , maybe he really isn't the guy everyone thinks he is, I don't think anyone has ever heard talk about school this way the way , Mr. Shapiro and the whole class is looking at him right now. Everyone clapped, and shouted that they were proud of Paxton. Once it died down Trent and I did ours.

Class was finally over and I could go to my next two classes and then go to lunch.
