Chapter Nineteen

Riley's POV

As my mom and I are waiting for Paxton and his family , we make ourselves a margarita. Sugar around the rim with an orange slice on the edge. I took food outside and sat it on the table , waiting for my mom to bring out the salad. I told her she wasn't allowed to bring out the heavy pans and bowls because she's cooked everything. I even set the table.

We made sure everything looked right before heading back inside waiting for them to get here. A couple minutes had went by and a sudden knock was on our front door, I got up to answer it as my mother went to go start the bonfire , I was welcomed with a warm hug by Rebecca, Mr and Mrs Hall - Yoshida , and of course my lovely boyfriend Paxton. Once they were all in the house, I had them follow me to the backyard, Paxton already knew the drill, he already knew where to go, and what to do. He wanted this to be just as perfect as I did. My mother sat at the head of the table, I sat next to her , Paxton sat next to me, Rebecca sat next to Paxton, and his parents sat at the other side. My mom making everyone a drink, and wanting to say grace before putting food our plates.

" As I make myself a plate today , surrounded by such great people , and seeing my daughter smile more than ever is such another blessing that you've gifted us with. Thank you father , and see you Sunday. Amen. " my mother said. We all said Amen and started making our plates to eat this delicious food. Paxton made mine because he insisted on doing so, I giggled and tried fighting him about it at first , but I eventually gave in because he's just so cute.

Our parents did more of the talking than either three of us could. We couldn't even talk amongst ourselves because they're laughing their asses off. As I'm on my last drink for the night , I go in to grab the desert to bring out to everyone since it's been about an hour since we've finished our dinner. The night went absolutely perfect . My mom loved Paxtons parents and his loved my mom.

I couldn't ask for anything better. Good thing I had my swimsuit underneath my outfit because Paxton thought it'd be funny to throw me in my pool. I'm so glad I took my phone out of my pocket.

" Awh mija " my mother says while laughing at me, almost crying because of how funny she thought it was. We swam for a little while , and had some more food. Eventually the night was over, unfortunately.
