"Oh right these two." I gesture to Jet and Damon behind me. "Are my new neighbours." I smile. I wave them over and they do.
"Damon and Jet this is Alex." I point to the 19 year old one with big muscles, blond hair and dark grey eyes. "Also known as Brittany's boyfriend." I continue pointing to the dramatic 19 year old firey red head with sea green eyes and she waves at Jet and Damon. "Then there's the twins. Isaac." I point to the one with light brown hair and deep brown eyes, he winks at Jet and I swear I heard her shy giggle. "And Isabel." Gesturing to the girl with almost identical features to her brother and she smiles polightly at the ground. She's shy with new people even though she's 18.
"Guys this is Damon and Jet. I gesture to each of them in turn. Isaac's gaze hardens when it meets Damon but his smile doesn't falter.
"So we were going to raid your kitchen for you yummy cookies, however since we have rescued you from the cold you can make us a fresh batch." Isaac smiles, he LOVES my cookies.
"Uh we have company but there might be enough desert left." I suggested with a smile and a shrug.
"Perfect." Isaac moves to swing his arm around my shoulder and lean on me, smelling faintly of linx and beer. It happens a lot and Isabel rolled her eyes, fixing her thick hipster glasses. Izzy hair is a shade lighter then her brothers and her eyes are bigger, apparently if it wasn't for her glasses she'd be attractive. Long story short I told that crappy stranger where to stick his opinion. We became friends that way, a crazy stranger standing up for her in a busy mall, I then of course met her brother and their friends whom offered me a job where they work.

"Mom I brought in the strays." I announced as we all pilled in. In the short walk to my house my friends became comfortable with my neighbours. Perfect.
"Have they eaten?" Mom asked with a knowing smile.
"All they want from me are my cookies." I sigh dramatically causing chuckles to rise from around the table. Turns out the parents get along.
I wander into the kitchen and dish out the dessert.
"It's a good that you made an extra cheesecake." Dad smiled as he scoped the ice cream, everyone had requested their flavors.
"I kind of figured this would happen." I smiled. Every Friday my friends popped in demanding food to cheer themselves up and to occasionally absorb the small amount of alcohol they'd consumed (Izzy doesn't drink though, she's the designated driver).
It's fun really, they bring a lot of entertainment with them which is confirmed again by a new chorus of laughter from the dining area.
"Let's not let them have all the fun without us." Dad smiled picking up a tray holding half of the plates.
Everyone's eyes lit up like Christmas trees when Dad and I presented them with their desserts, the table was awkwardly crampt but no one complained as the tried not to stuff their faces.
"Is this a slice of heaven or something?" Jet asked in awe while my parents and friends smiled knowingly.
"Nope. Just a white chocolate, Oreo and berry cheesecake." I beamed.
"Holy cow Sis, this is the best one yet!" Brittany exclaimed loudly.
"Sis?" Clara inquired. "I didn't know you have a sister."
"Oh sorry Ms Peterson. It's not like that, it's her nick name 'Little Sis' since she's the youngest and we're like family." Brittany smiled, Clara seemed quite satisfied with this response and she nodded, spooning more cheesecake into her delicate mouth.
Damon was already done along with Alex and Isaac, they sat back stretching out their bellies and patting them in satisfaction.
Weirdos
"So Kida, your dad and I were thinking that you could go to school this year, you never did get a proper senior year." Mom asked carefully, there's worry in my parents smiles.
"Yeah sure." I smile. "I'll talk to Sarah about adjusting my hours at work three to five, four tines a week seems fair." Sarah is a great boss, she's always open to shift changes as long as you show up.
"Great!" Mom cheered. "You'll be going to school with Jet starting next week when we get your books." Mom smiled. "I'll be going in for a meeting with the principal in the morning, apparently it's not that uncommon for new students to enrol a few weeks into the school year."
Jet was basically bouncing in her seat.
"You'll get to meet all my friends, we might have classes together" Jet took in a deep gasp hitting the table with her open palm lightly in excitement. "We could be cheerleaders together, or in the same soccer team, or we could run track together..." I smiled as Jet continued, this was gonna be great. I never did get to go to highschool...
