*Kidas point of view*
WHY WONT THE BABY STOP CRYING !!!!!!
It's freaking 4:32 am and Theo won't shut up.
Mumbling a string of derogatives I stumble out of my bed and zombie walk to my shower. I'm no morning person but once I'm up I stay up so I might as well have a nice warm shower and wash this groggy feeling away. I grab a pair of ripped red jeans, a flowing black blouse and my black converse along with a clean pair of under garments and a black singlet. Flicking the fan on and starting the shower to the right warmth I shrug out of my grey pajama pants and tardis t-shirt and shake my hair out of its french braid, the dirty blond colour falls around me. I step into the shower and start a nice long shower, my vanilla scented body wash a rose scented shampoo and conditioner fills my nostrils and I breath deeply taking my sweet time shaving and scrubbing. I must have taken a long time becase while i rinsed off Moms head popped in the door.
"Kida, hurry up please, you have a visitor."
I didn't have time to ask who it was because as quickly as she came Mom was gone. Dam. I ran though my head who would visit me this early, sure it wasn't 4:32 am but it was still quite early for a saturday morning. It wouldn't be anyone from work, they know I take saturdays off and they don't wake up until 8 at the earliest, it wouldn't be Jet and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be Damon because something tells me Jet would just walk in and make herself at home and Damon wouldn't come over at all. I wondered about who it could possibly be while I blow dried my hair while magically wriggling into my red ripped jeans, oh I love these jeans. Once my hair was deemed dry enough, though dissapointingly not fully dry I shrug on the rest of my outfit, quickly rinsed my mouth to rid myself of my disgusting morning breath and wandered my way to the stairs.
I paused there, shock setting in.
No it can't be.He's supposed to be miles away in London or something... But when I heard his laughter for the second time there was no denying it.
"KEEEEEVVVVIIIIINNN" I squeald racing down the stairs at the spped of light, flooring it to the lounge where I heard his laugh come from. There he was, he stood quickly and threw his arms out just in time to catch me as I threw myself into a bone crushing hug.
"I missed you too Kida. Look at you, you're all grown up." He chuckled, he held me out at arms legth, my feet now firly on the floor and I smiled up at him. "You look good K, if we weren't related I'd ask you out." He smiled, this was a well known line of his, a compliment of such.
"If you did, I'd quickly turn you down buy throwing water in your face and telling you to clean your eyes because I'm obviously waaay out of your league." I teased ruffling his dark brown hair. Laughing he lunged and started tickling my sides and I cracked, laughing like a crazy person. My face hurt from smiling, I couldn't breathe because of the constant laughing and I was so freaking happy.
"So Kevin, how was London?" Dad asked from the head of the dining table, carefully cutting his pancakes and popping them into his mouth, I don't know why but it always felt like you were eating at some high class banquet when Dad ate.
"It was good thank you. Thank God I have that machanics job or paying for my flat would have been torture." Like myself Kevin was sorta booted far away from my parents, though he was only ther nephew. My birth parents were ass holes and dispised my birth mothers side of the family completly. They liked Kevin to start with because he was intersted in business and politics for a while but was quickly shunned when he picked up a paint brush. I spent alot of time with him growing up, he always acted like my big brother and was always there for me when I needed him, unfortunitly I moved to New York, and he moved to London, though they weren't that far apart he was always busy, study, working, getting laid (he made it sound like it was volenteer work, providing eye candy, arm candy... and... eww..) "Yeah, there are some great people in London, I hope you don't mind but I invited my flat mate around to join us when he's free. He doesn't talk much, unless it's about video games or the arts so all I know is that he just doen't like too or can't go back home." Mom and Dad nodded, the best thing about my parents is that they're so welcoming, willing to accept everyone. Mom even sent one of my birthday invitations to them every year, though they never came, obviously.
"We'd be more than happy to welcome your friend Kevin, and remember that you're welcome anytime." Mom smiled lovingly. "I think we have a spare key lying around, you could take that with you if you want, your mother already has one." What did I tell you, so freaking welcoming. I saw the sparkle in Kevin's eyes and I knew that he'd make himself at home.
And I was right. Turns out Kevin aka my really annoying cousin would be taking up residence in our attic, it wasn't a dodgy attic, it had insulation, carpet, furniture, power and a spiraling stair case that leads to the roof though a sliding hatch rather than a door, turns out sacrifices must be made for appearances. There are two bedrooms up in the attic, the rest of the space was an open lounge area with a small T.V. a small couch and a few beanbags.
"Not to bad cousin, you did well huh kid?" Kevin teased, he was always the joker of the family, the first one to laugh and to crack a joke, the only one to make everyone feel comfortable. A talent I lacked significantly.
" There aren't any windows but you'll be able to leave the lights on,they won't add much to the power bill, they run on the solar power panel on the roof, there are proper lights as well in case the panel doesn't get enough sun." I explain smiling. Kevin takes the room on the far end above Mom and Dads room."Is there any sound proofing?" Kevin winks and I roll my eyes.
"Between the floor and ceiling? Yes, and around the framing of the house." Kevin nods in response checking the surface of the dresser, desk and bed frame for dust. He's a neat freak and has asthma so he's a nut job about dust. He chucks his big blue duffle bag onto the neat bed, messing up the green bed spread slightly.
"Sweet. I'm gonna take a nap, flying really takes it out of you, then around lunch we'll go do something fun, okay?" Kevin asks already climbing into his bed, curling around his duffle bag.
"Oke-dokey cousin. See you later." I shut the door quietly behind me and massage my cheeks, they still hurt from all the smiling and laughing, something told me having Kevin around was gonna be fun.
