I hate to know that sooner or later I'm going to be a vampire, just like my family. I don't think I'll have a chance to escape my fate. It's terrifying to witness them killing someone and laughing as if everything is okay. And afterwards, they act like nothing happened. It's weird and fucking scary. All I want is to be like my friends, a normal person. I want to eat and drink whatever I want, not just blood and human meat.
My name is Beth, and I'm 16 years old. It's been a week since I celebrated my birthday, and I still haven't felt anything weird. Normally, I should have started craving blood, hearing the heartbeat of others... My family is starting to worry because I should have turned into a vampire on the night of my birthday. That's when they can start preparing for the ceremony, the ceremony called "The Night of the Eternal Bite."
As the days pass, the pressure from my family intensifies. They constantly remind me of my impending transformation, as if it's something to be celebrated. But deep down, I feel a sense of dread. I don't want to become a monster like them. I want to live a normal life, free from the darkness that surrounds my family.
