In the halo control room center (Y/n) and Master chief appeared along with Guilty Spark while (Y/n) is trying his best to not throw up for the second time of the teleportation travel.
(Y/n): ( I really need to get use of it )
Guilty Spark: which means that any organism with sufficient mass and cognitive capability is a potential vector
Both (Y/n) and master chief looked around and realize that they are back where Cortana is at.
Guilty Spark: is something wrong?
Master chief: no... nothing
Guilty Spark: splendid! shall we?
Then Guilty Spark began hovering over the control panel.
(Y/n): *whispers* chief is this the place where?
Master chief: *whispers* yeah it is
(Y/n): *whispers* oh boy ( something tells that Cortana is not going to be happy of what we are going to do )
We followed Guilty Spark to the control panel until he stops.
Guilty Spark: unfortunately my usefulness to this particular endeavor has come to an end protocol does not allow units with my classification to perform a task as important as the reunification of the index with the core that final step is reserved for you Reclaimer
(Y/n): ( Reclaimer? )
Master chief grabbed the index and inserted in the control activating the halo defense system except nothing happened.
Guilty Spark: odd that wasn't supposed to happen
Then a wild Cortana appeared.
Cortana: oh really?
Cortana stunned Guilty Spark surprising both (Y/n) and master chief from her actions.
(Y/n): Cortana!
Cortana: I've spent the last 12 hours cooped up in here watching you two toady about helping that thing get set to slit our throats!
Master chief: hold on now he's a friend
Cortana: oh I didn't realize he's your pal is he? your chum? do you have any idea what that bastard almost made you do?!
(Y/n): ( called it )
Master chief: yes activating halo's defense and destroy the flood which is why we brought the index to the control center
Cortana: *shows the index* you mean this
Guilty Spark: a construct? in the core? that is absolutely unacceptable!
Cortana: sod off
Auntie Dot: oh dear
Guilty Spark: what impertinence I shall purge you at once
Cortana: you sure that's a good idea? *puts the index away in her database*
Guilty Spark: how...how dare?! I'll-
Cortana: do what?! I have the index you just float and sputter!
Master chief: enough!
Master chief stop Guilty Spark and Cortana from arguing.
Master chief: the flood is spreading if we activate halo's defense we can wipe them out
Cortana: you have no idea how this ring works do you? why the forerunners built it? halo doesn't kill flood it kills their food!
Cortana: humans Covenant-whatever! we're all equally edible the only way to stop the flood is to starve them to death and that's exactly what halo is designed to do wipe the galaxy clean of all sentient life you don't believe me? ask him!
