Janet
Toni kissed all over me as we sat in my car in her driveway. "No."

"Baby, please."

"No. You remember what happened last time I had dinner here."

"I do and I'll make it all up to you later. I promise."
She smiled at me. Toni had come up with the brilliant idea of me having dinner with her parents again tonight. Apparently, she wants to, as she says 'stick it to him.' It sounds like she's planning to come out to him. If she does, this is going to be a crazy night.

"Toni..."

"Babyyyy." She whined. "I'll let you do that thing." I looked at her.

"Don't play with me, Toni."

"I'm not. We can do it." I took my key out and opened the door.

"Let's go."

"Baby, wait for me." She laughed and ran around to me.

"No time to waste." We got to the front door and she unlocked it. We walked in and the smell of food made my stomach growl.

"Toni! Is that you?"

"Shh." She said to me. "Yes, mommy. It's me."

"Great. You're back just in...." Her mother walked towards us but stopped when she saw me. Toni held her finger to her mouth, signaling to her mom to be quiet.

"You done cooking?"

"Yes, sweetie. I think you'll love it. Come on to the table. Wash your hands first." Toni and I went into the bathroom and washed our hands.

"What are you planning?"

"Just sit, play along and wait for me to signal you."

"Okay." I watched her bend over to get paper towels from under the sink. I smacked her ass.

"Ow." She stood up. "Why did you do that?"

"That ass fat. Why wouldn't I?" She laughed and dried her hands.

"Let's go." I followed behind her to the dining room. I saw that her mother and father were already at the table. "Hi, dad." He stood up.

"Hey, swe...Janet." He stared at me. "Hello."

"Hello Bishop. How are you?"

"I'm well. What brings you over?"

"Well, Toni...."

"I invited her."

"Did you now?" I could see the anger all over his body. He tried to hide but it was definitely there.

"Yes, she hasn't had a home cooked meal, so I thought it would be great for her to come. Come on." Toni pulled me to the table and we sat down. Her father clears his throat before sitting.

"Well, it's a pleasure to have you."

"Thank you, Bishop."

"You seem happier. Anything new in your life?" I looked at Toni. She just looked back at me and raised her eyebrow.

"Uhh....yes, actually I have an apartment now."

"Wow. Well to God be the glory." said Mrs. Braxton as she sat something else on the table. "Right, honey?"

"Yes, God's blessings are always right on time. I'm happy for you, Janet."

"Thank you, Bishop." Mrs. Braxton sat down.

"You're welcome. Now, shall we pray." Everyone joined hands. "Father God in the name of Jesus, please bless this food we are about to receive for the nourishment of our bodies and fulfillment of our souls. Bless the hands of my lovely wife who has prepared it and allow us to feed those who are unable. Allows to be used as you please and not by the needs of our flesh. Amen."
