Gazing up at the building where a noodle shop was positioned in, he recalled why he was here in the first place; Lloyd had been right, he should stop thinking of himself for just a moment and meet the Green Ninja. After a short hesitation, he walked in, immediately greeted by the voices of people and the smell of freshly made meals. He stopped for a moment until he saw Lloyd standing up, waving at him.

''Kai, back here.'' He called out, and the former Red Ninja made his way over.

Surprised at the sight of two others, he said; ''Jay, Cole?'' The raven-haired turned at him from where he had been sitting.

''Ha. You too?'' He turned away again, continuing to stare at the passing food, and Kai could practically see him drooling over them.

''The runt tricked us all!'' Jay said, irritated. Kai settled down, reaching for some Sushi which passed by, yet his wrist was caught just before he could pick it up.

''We talk first, then eat.'' Lloyd said sternly.

Cole grumbled; ''Ugh. Trust me, do you know what kind of restraint I've had to have staring at all this noodle goodness?'' Some things never change, Kai thought, and it almost made him smile. The black-haired continued; ''You're late!''

''Make it quick.'' Kai said to Lloyd, and the blond started speaking.

''I know without Zane things have been different, but we have to move on. The reason I brought you all here is because..'' He paused. ''Maybe we have to add someone new to our team.''

This brought up all kinds of complaints from the three former ninja's. ''A new ninja?'' or ''Are you crazy?'' And ''Come on! Zane is irreplaceable!''

Lloyd sunk back into his seat. ''I cared for him too, but now it's time to care about this team.''

Kai couldn't help it; he snapped. ''Maybe without Zane, there is no team.'' A tense silence started between them, despite the talking people around them. It didn't last long though, as the doors swung open, catching Kai's attention despite the fact that his back was turned to the entrance. He just couldn't help it, his ADHD got the most of him at times like these. It's what caused his quick reflexes or the fact that he wasn't able to sit still, and there was always something that caught his attention. Currently his leg was bouncing up and down and his fingers fiddled around with the rings on them.

''Oh! Don't look now, but we've got trouble.'' Jay said nervously, and Kai had to fight back the urge to look back to see what was going on. He could hear laughing and the food stopped coming, causing him to grow suspicious.

''Alright, now they're our problem.'' Cole said moodily. He stood up and walked to the cashier, where the gang had the poor man against the treadmill, followed by the rest of the ninja. He spoke up in a sarcastic tone; ''Excuse me, it's not polite to touch someone else's food.''

Leaning against a nearby table, Kai added. ''I'd listen to him if I were you. He's no fun to be around when he's hangry.'' The gang leader didn't get the hint, however, and quickly made his way over. He made an attempt to punch Cole, but his attack was blocked by the sticks the Black Ninja was holding.

The fight eventually led to plates and dishes flying around, grunting and Kai in the middle of it all speaking; ''Alright, I admit it. We make a good team.''

Somehow, in between fighting with the gang leader, Cole managed to grab a few 'noodle goodness's and eat them, saying; ''Everything's better on a full stomach!'' He wanted to grab another, but it was smashed by the damned gang leader.

''Hey! I was gonna eat that!'' The Black Ninja said, now really pissed off, and he smashed the leader's head in a bowl of noodles. Kai kicked the next right in the chest, causing all the air to be sucked from his opponents lungs, and landed in another dish, slowly falling backwards. The next gang member came running at the Red Ninja, but tripped over his fallen mate, and he rolled further until he came to a stop. Kai, seeing that his work was done, did a flip off the treadmill, landing at the exact spot he had been leaning on the table before.

''How can you walk away from this?'' Lloyd exclaimed as Kai landed next to him with a smirk. His attention was ripped away from the blond however as he watched the gang being slapped with a plate by a mother whose child must have gotten jumpscared. He kept watching as the trio jumped off the treadmill, heading for the backdoor. The leader looked back once, and their eyes met. He smirked and ran out.

''Hey, let's get them, guys!'' Kai said as he ran after them, followed by the rest. The door flew open, and in front of him a small courtyard appeared, with no one in sight.

''Huh, where'd they go?'' He said, confusion lacing his voice. He looked around until his amber eyes fell on a small altar with a poster above it, hanging from the wall.

He stepped towards it as Lloyd spoke; ''What's this?'' Kai's eyes widened as he saw what, or most likely, who was on the piece of paper.

''It's Zane.''

''What does it say?'' Cole said from somewhere on his right. Lloyd pushed past them, and carefully took the paper off the wall. The three others gathered around him.

''It says, he's alive.'' The blond said, surprise and excitement clearly audible in his voice. All three former ninjas gasped.

Realization hit Kai, and he spoke up quickly. ''I don't think those thugs were delivering a message to the noodle house. I think they were delivering a message to us.''
