21. Twister

Aislynn was scared. She wouldnt admit that often because she liked to think herself fearless. But she was scared.

The weather was warm but wind whipped around them. Rain started at a drizzle and turned to massive down pour.

Aislynn liked the rain. It was clensing but this was different. Thunder boomed and lightning cracked across the sky.

Aegon screamed out and Aislynn cradled him to her closer as the lightning seemed to hit the courtyard below.

"Lynnie!" Alicent ran through her chamber door. Finn was right behind her. "Whats going on?" She demanded urgently.

"I cant control the weather Ali." Aislynn remarked reaching out for her younger siblings.

"Mum?" Finn questioned pouting up at her.

"Viserys!" Aislynn demanded. "What is happening?"

"Get away from the window." Viserys remarked reaching for her. "We need to out as many walls between us and the storm."

"What is it?" Aislynn countered.

"Amoret!" Tommy demanded running in. He looked to Aislynn before seeing a nervous Alicent. "Ali you alright?"

"Whats going on outside?" Aislynn demanded

"I have seen this once before." Viserys admitted. "Come on. Grab Whats precious to you." Aislynn held aegon closer kissing his little head as he whimpered out. "Come on. Away from the windows."

"Viserys what is it? Where is rhaenyra? Tom where is father?" Aislynn demanded as they moved.

"Its a twister." Viserys remarked. "Deadly thing. Come. It tares through everything. Buildings. People. Come." Aislynn clung nervously to viserys as she led Finn and Alicent in front of them. She glanced back at Tommy as he put a hand on her back.

"Whats going on!" Rhaenyra demanded running to them.

"Twister."

"A what?"

"Come on Rhaenyra. Viserys knows what he is doing." Aislynn remarked. Biserys led them to the lower level. Keeping them by the stairs in case the roof was lifted and their basement level didnt become stable. He didnt want any pieces dropping down on his family.

Aislynn sat in between viserys leg. Aegon in her arm. Finn sitting between her legs. She ran a hand over his hair.

The storm raged on for what felt like hours. Viserys had never seen Aislynn so quiet before. Otto either. He reached out a hand grabbing Aislynns hand. She offered him a pitiful smile.

Viserys pressed a kiss to Aislynns cheek as the wind whistled around them. Alicent and Rhaenyra held tight to each other.

Aislynn bounced Aegon in her arms trying to keep him calm. The last thing anyone needed was a wailing baby to add to the already tense mood. Aislynn kissed his little head and he snuggled close to her. Little eyes staring up at her when they heard a crash from outside. Aislynn flinched back into Viserys at the sound.

Viserys ran his hands along her arms kissing her shoulder. Whispering similar sweet nothings to aislynn as she did with Aegon.

It felt kike forever before the darkened sky turned the most beautiful and clear sunny even. The birds chirping out as a sign that the storm had passed. Light shone in through the windows high on the walls. The guards were the first to head out but viserys assured unless they were in the eye of the storm it had passed.

When they got out the stables were a mess. Planks in pieces scattered around them. Swords flung piercing the walls. Viserys flicked at the sword stuck in the wall.

"Like excalibur." Finn whispered.

"The horses will have run off." Viserys remarked. "All the animals the hounds I assume will have made their way into the castle for safety the horses we will find over the next few days grazing in farms."

"You sound very confident." Tommy remarked stiffly.

"Remember boy I have lived more life than you. I know what Im talking about." Viserys remarked kindly.

"Its so beautiful out!" Finn declared. "Its like it was never stormy at all!"

"Except the stables." Aislynn added wrapping her free arm around him.

"Except the stables." Finn agreed. "What did you call it? A twister?"

"Thats right."

"Because it twisted all around." finn realized. He started spinning around in circles. Leave it to finn to brighten the mood after they all thought they were going to die. Viserys pulled Aislynn closer kissing her cheek.
