A Year Later

Ming Lynn's Pov:(Picture In Media)
"Miiiing Hurry Up Your Gonna Be Late For Work". I Heard My Aunt Mai (Mi) Say In Her Heavy Korean Accent.

Okay I Know Your Confused, Who Is Ming? Where Is She From?

My Name Is Ming Lynn Lee, Mouthful Right. I'm 19 And Currently Living With With My Aunt Mai. I've Been Living With Her Ever Since My Parents Died Two Years Ago. Last Year We Were Living In Decatur, Georgia But After A Huge Life Changing Incident We Moved To Chicago, Illinois.
I'm Mixed, Black And Korean. I'm Super Short 5'0 And I Have Hair That Reaches The Middle Of My Back.

I Work At Walmart As A Cashier And I'm About To Be Super Late. I Ran Out With My I.d. And Stuff In Hand And Got Into My 2014 Tahoe.

When I Made It To Work Instantly My Best Friend, June Started Talking My Ear Off.

"Oh And Guess What" She Said As We Walked To Our Cash Registers.

"What"

"He Asked Me Out"

June Was The First And Only Person To Talk To Me When I Came Out Here. Senior Year I Was The New Girl And She Was "Oh So Excited" To Meet Me.

I Spent My First Twenty Minutes Of Work Arguing With Some Lady About Grapes. She Assumed I Scanned Them Twice.

After Work Me And June Went To Dunkin Donuts. I Didn't Want Anything But June Got Two Glazed Donuts. We Sat Down And I Got On My Phone.

"You Always Seem A Little Depressed" She Said With A Mouthful Of Donut.

"And You Always Seem Fat"

"Okay Shots Fired...What's Wrong"

"June I Can't Stop Thinking About Him, He Was My Best Friend, My Diary, My Shoulder To Cry On, My Everything. He Was Always There When I Needed Him And He Just..Disappeared."

"Did You Guys Date"

"No"

"Were You Guys In Love"

"June No. I Loved Him But We Weren't In Love"

"Ming For All We Know He May Be Dead"

"June Stop, Don't Say Stuff Like That To Me. He's Not Dead, He Can't Be"

"And Why Not"

"Because I Said So!" I Yelled Making Everyone Look At Me.

"Oookay Then"

"I'm Sorry"

"I Think It's Time To Go"

"Yeah"

I Got In My Truck And Made My Way Home. When I Walked In The House Aunt Mai Was On The Phone Yelling At Someone In Korean. I Rolled My Eyes As I Went upstairs To My Room.

Ever Since I Lost Que I Just Go To Work And Stay In My Room All Day. I Don't Talk To Many People Unless On The Job. My Aunt Tries To Get Me To Mingle With People She Knows But What The Hell Do I Look Like Being Friends With 40 Year Olds.

I Put On Some Sweats And A Tank. I Was About To Lay Down Until I Heard Mai Yell My Name. I Sighed Before Going Downstairs.

" Ming, manna lullu wa geunyeoui ttal Siya" (Meet Lulu And Her Daughter Siya)

"annyeong" (Hi) I Said Before Going Right Back To My Room And Locking The Door.

This Is An All The Time Thing. She'll Have A Friend Over And Want Me To Meet Them But I Care Nothing For Them.

I Laid Down And I Found Myself Falling Asleep Very Quickly.

I Woke Up The Next Morning And Quickly Got Showered And Dressed To Go To Work.

Stopped At A Red Light I Looked Down At My Phone. I Looked Over To Car Next Me And Couldn't Believe My Eyes. It Looked Like Que. I Shut My Eyes Then I Heard A Car Horn. The Car Was Gone But The One Behind Me Was Honking His Horn And The Light Was Green.

When I Pulled Up To Wal Mart I Was Kinda In A Daze. I'm Letting My Imagination Get To Me. Did I Fall Asleep At The Light Or Something.

June Somehow Parked Right Next To Me. I Think She Be Stalking Me Sometimes. We Got Out of The Car At The Same Time.

"Why You Look Like You Saw A Ghost" She Asked

"I Think I Did"

She Laughed. "What"

"June I Just Saw Que"

She Rolled Her Eyes "You Think You Just Saw Que"

"June What Is The Problem"

"The Problem Is Your So Depressed You Barely Even Smile. This Boy Is Gone And You Keep Holding Onto Him. I Would Like To Spend Time With My Friend And Actually Get A Genuine Laugh Instead Of Hear Her Talk About Some Depressing Guy All Day. I'm Sorry Ming But He's Gone, Let Him Go"

I Sighed Heavily Before Walking Into The Store And Getting Right To Work. She Just Doesn't Get It. I Could Never Let Him Go, Not For As Long As I Live.
