Yours and Seb's moment was cut short when you were both startled by a noise in the hallway.

"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt." Charles was standing there with a plate of food in his hands.

"We should start learning to close the doors after us," Seb commented making you both laugh. You wiped the now happy tears from under your eyes.

"I can leave." Charles pointed behind himself standing there awkwardly.

"It's fine, I was just leaving." Seb smiled at you, placing a kiss on your temple. "I'll see you tomorrow darling." He gave your hand a comforting squeeze before leaving. He patted Charles's shoulder on his way out offering him a wink which Charles embarrassingly attempted to return.

You walked towards the door where Charles still stood, things were tense between you both for sure and you knew you should be angry but because of your interaction with Seb it was hard to be angry right now.

"Hey." You greeted him.

"Hi, I came to leave you some food...I saw you didn't finish your dinner so I thought you might get hungry." Charles lifted up the plate showing you some pasta.

"Right, thank you, that's very thoughtful." you smiled taking the plate from his hands.

Now it seemed Charles didn't know what to do with them, scratching his head putting his hands in his pockets, and then taking them out and finally proceeding to lean against the doorway tapping his fingers on the wall.

You couldn't help but laugh at his awkwardness. "Do you need something else?" You asked trying to save him from himself.

Charles stood upright again finally deciding on putting his hands in his pockets. "Yeah actually, I also wanted to apologize...for today." He started. "I was a dick."

"Yeah, you were." You agreed with him which took him by surprise. "But I guess you were kind of right."

"No I wasn't" Charles quickly said. "I wasn't, Uhm...Seb told us about your degree, how you got your internship." Charles didn't want to overshare, Seb had confided in them and he didn't want to break that trust. "You deserve to be here and you also belong here and I shouldn't have spoken to you like that, you were doing your job and I was an idiot so I'm sorry I hope you can forgive me."

You didn't say anything at first, looking at Charles as if studying the authenticity of his sincerity and once you saw real guilt in his eyes you decided to accept his apology. "Thank you for apologizing, I do forgive you. It's water under the bridge." You offered him a kind smile.

"It's what?" Charles furrowed his brows confused.

"Water under the bridge?" You repeated confused at what he meant but once you saw the confusion in his eyes you realized he had no idea what you meant. "It's forgotten, we can move on." you reiterated.

"Oh, yeah." He laughed to himself.

You expected him to leave but once again he stood there awkwardly.

"Uhmm, d'you wanna come in?" You finally asked running out of ideas and tired of the awkward air just standing at the door.

Charles faked surprise at your proposition. "Yeah, if that's okay with you."

You smiled moving to the side to let him in, this time you shut the door after you.

Charles walked in and he saw the Tv on, the race you were watching was on pause and the datasheets you were looking through were on the floor where you'd been sitting.

He held the sheet with your notes glancing over them, you stood there watching him unsure of what to do next.

"This is really good," Charles commented after a few seconds gesturing to your notes and looking at you.
