A few weeks had passed since that fateful night at Shoto's party, and life had settled into a comforting rhythm for Izuku and Katsuki. They had found solace in each other's arms, rekindling their love and rebuilding the trust that had been momentarily shaken.
On this particular day, Izuku found himself immersed in his work, focusing on his tasks with diligence. But as fate would have it, Kairi, the source of past tension, approached him with a hesitant smile. She took a deep breath, her eyes reflecting genuine remorse.
"Izuku," Kairi began softly, her voice tinged with sincerity, "I wanted to apologize for what happened that night at the party...I've been avoiding it, because I really feel awful. I let my emotions get the best of me and I acted out of selfishness. I know things got out of hand, and I didn't mean to cause any trouble."
Izuku looked up from his work, meeting her gaze with a calm expression. The wounds were still fresh in his memory, but he had come to understand the role alcohol had played that night. Taking a moment to collect his thoughts, he replied with a forgiving tone.
"Kairi, I appreciate your apology. We all had a lot to drink that night, and sometimes, things happen that we don't necessarily intend. I understand that, and I forgive you," Izuku said, his words carrying a genuine sense of compassion, he shifted into a joking manner to lighten the mood, "but... if you ever kiss my boyfriend again. I won't be as forgiving next time."
Kairi visibly lit up, "Boyfriend?? You guys got back together?" She seemed genuinely happy at this news, a weight seemingly lifted off her shoulders.
Izuku laughed and nodded, "Yeah, Katsuki's little revenge pull into the closet took an unexpected turn but I'm happy."
Kairi clapped with joy, "I'm seriously so happy to hear that. I was so worried my stupid behavior had caused a rift between you guys."
Izuku sighed and smiled, "Nope, quite the opposite, so I guess I should thank you."
She nodded gratefully, her eyes reflecting a mix of relief and gratitude. "No, thank you, Izuku. I'm truly sorry for any hurt I may have caused. But I am very happy to hear about this relationship. I know Katsuki is very very fond of you."
Izuku offered her a warm smile, extending his hand in a gesture of goodwill. "Apology accepted, Kairi. Let's move forward and leave the past behind us."
As their hands met in a brief handshake, a sense of closure settled upon them. It was a step towards healing, not only for Izuku but also for Kairi, who had carried her own burden of regret, now replaced with genuine joy for two guys she cared for deeply.
Kairi returned to her desk and continued her work, feeling an ease now where she once felt so much turmoil.
Izuku also felt relief, work had been a bit awkward since the night at Shoto's but he's glad Kairi finally came to talk to him about the events. Tonight, was training. Izuku was excited to partake in the training Katsuki was doing, even more so now. Runner's Rally finals were only a 2 weeks away.
Izuku's phone buzzed suddenly, a text from Katsuki.
Katsuki: I literally keep forgetting to ask you.
Izuku: Ask me what?
Katsuki: To come to my graduation, I get my masters degree this friday.
Izuku: Kacchan!! That's so exciting, of course I'll go.
Katsuki: Perfect. Aunty Inko can come too, I have an extra ticket.
Izuku: I'll let her know :) I'll see you tonight
Izuku put his phone away and continued on with work, hoping the day would go by faster.
