"Too much happiness can be the cause of too much sadness."
Yibo think it's true. Earlier, they were damn happy. They were supposed to meet someone, a person whom Yibo wanted to meet again. So him, and his wife Elizabeth, traveled from the award show to meet that person.
Yibo insisted. For the reason, that he wanted to... Everything happened so fast. He didn't have the opportunity to make a turn and dodge that upcoming truck and his car and that vehicle collided.
They were rushed in the hospital. He was still conscious yet Elizabeth wasn't. Blood gushing down from his wife head. All he could do was to grit his teeth and pray, not for his safety but for Elizabeth's. He's not even worrying about his legs. They were two metal tubes pierce through his legs. The pain was making him numb, and he feels like, he have lost too much blood because of it. But he didn't give a damn. He doesn't care if, he'll become a cripple man, after this. He doesn't care if he cannot use his legs once again. To dance and walk. He'll bargain his legs in exchange for his wife's safety. Yet his prayers weren't enough.
Elizabeth was declared dead, even though the operation, haven't started yet. Yibo was still in the middle of the operation. The doctors were having a hard time, to remove those tubes from Yibo's legs. Miraculously, they succeeded and after that Yibo was out of danger.
It was a joyful moment for his Mom but at the same time, they were grieving. They lose Elizabeth. The matriarch of Yibo's family was now gone.
Yibo didn't expect that the award whom he received that night, will resulted to this nightmare.
Imagine the pain that you will feel, after opening your eyes, then you'll know that your wife is gone. Gone by means that you will never have a chance to see her again. To feel her and hold her.
Yibo went into a rampage after finding out the truth. He removed his dextrous and rush, just to be welcome by Elizabeth's Mom.
He remembered how he begged and kneeled down in front of his mother-in-law. Yet, he received these words.
"You're a murderer, because of you my daughter is now dead. You killed her Yibo. You took my daughter away from me, and now, you killed her? You're a murderer!"
He cannot forget those venomous words that he received. It pains him. His heart throbbed when he heard those words. He can never forget, that pained expression from his wife's Mom. Those tears that keeps on falling from the old woman's eyes. That will forever engraved in his memories.
His mother-in-law was right. The driver of the truck, wasn't the one to blame. It was his fault. If he didn't insisted and listen to his wife, saying that they should go home and inform that person, if they could reschedule their meet up. But no, he was too damn excited, to meet and greet that man in person. Now, his wife is gone.
If he only listened to Elizabeth, then maybe now, they were still complete. Hannah wouldn't lost his Mom and he wouldn't lost the woman that he loves.
It's true that anyone cannot have everything that he wants in life. It was conceited of him to think, that he had everything. The fame, money, talents, skills, a beautiful wife and a daughter. But destiny challenged him and took his wife away from him, from them. To show him, that he cannot think too highly of himself.
Now he regrets it. He didn't admit that he was like that. A narcissist and conceited bastard. But now? He cannot deny that fact and it was sad to say, that it was too late. He realized his faults and mistakes, now that it's too late.
The night of the accident, was a reminder for him. How terrible he was. Elizabeth always did everything. He always have his wife's support, in everything that he wanted to do. That beautiful woman, didn't complain. Yibo didn't hear a single utterance of complain, from his wife. Elizabeth was a perfect wife for him and a perfect mother for Hannah.
