I leave the house the next morning, now excited to see Bill. Just as I step out onto the street, I see him walking. His head is low, Tom isn't with him. I think its weird but I remember he's embarrassed of his brother, he doesn't want to be seen with him. It's so sad but I don't mind being seen with Bill. I decide to yell up to him, he looked sad already.

"Bill! Hey!" I shout up to him, he has his hands in his pocket. He looks up, his face lighting up as he realizes who I am. He comes running, picking me up and spinning me. "Hi Lena!" He laughs through words, his rapsy voice catching my interest. He keeps me in his arms so I decide to wrap my legs around his torso again.

"I'm so happy to see you! They were teasing me for being too sensitive last night." He complains to me, his voice lowering. Oh boy not his trusted people too. "Awh, don't feel bad about it Bill, it's okay to have a big heart." Pointing to his chest. I give him a sweet smile as he carries me down the hill again.

"You're right, I just overthought it all night until I was asleep." I feel bad for Bill, he seems to not ever be able to take a break. I decide that tonight maybe he can stay with me, take a break from stress. He seems to be his true self around me only, not even around his brother. I feel sad for him, but reply.

"You know what Bill, I think you need a break, what if we tried to have a sleepover so you can take a mental break, huh?" His face lights up excited. "Yes! Yes!" He holds me tighter in replacement of a hug. I rest my head on his shoulder as we walk. We approach school and he sets me down.

(Time skip because I'm lazy 🤭)

Me and Bill walked up to my house, he was nervously walking up the porch steps. I take him inside and I see mom and dad sitting on the couch, they look over to me. "Hi Lena, who's this?" Dad asks me. "Oh hi dad, this is Bill. We wanted to ask if we could have a sleepover. He wanted a break from home to say the least." Dad has always been willing to help out kids. He had a kind heart.

I've inherited my empathy from my father, which is why it's so outrageous. "Oh sure sweetheart. Nice to meet you Bill." Bill smiles childishly, he's happy we didn't judge him. "Okay dad we'll be back in a few." I say as we leave, going to his house. He walks up the street silent, so I break the silence causing him to snap his head at me.

"I'm really happy you wanted to sleep over at my house." I exclaim, clapping my hands. He smiles excitedly. "Me too, I'm super excited! I can finally chill out. I don't have to worry about hiding my emotions from Tom. He always tells me to lighten up or toughen up."

I knew he felt trapped inside his head, tonight he can relax and let out anything he needed to. I'm here. I smile, making him feel okay. I can see it in his autumn colored eyes. We arrive and he grabs his stuff, packing it into his school bag. He can always pick his stuff up after school. He runs back out with a huge smile, he jogs out to me and slows down to my pace as I walk. We make our way to my house and walk inside.

"We're just going to my room okay?" Dad nods and we go to my room. I close my door, and Bill stands akwardly at my door. "What are you doing?" He looks at me nervously. "I don't want to invade." Bill mumbles, looking up at me through his lashes. "Oh jeez Bill, make yourself at home, that's why you're here."

He smiles stupidly, like he's ashamed to be so dumb. He sets his bag next to me and takes his shoes off, placing them by mine, he doesn't lose any height. He sits down next to me on my bed. I was in the crisscross position, holding myself up with my legs only. He sits with his legs hanging to the side of my bed. He sits, looking around a moment before looking to me.
