Reach Out Your Hand, Beyond That Is. (Nightcord At 25:00 fanfic)

[Chapter 4; "Mafuyu Search Squad"]

Mafuyu coming back to Sekai safely after radio silence on Nightcord for a day has given the N25 team quite the relief.
Since a lot happened during the time before Kanade met Mafuyu in the rain.

It was yesterday when Ena was drawing on her tablet in her room as usual, making a few final sketches for the music video for the song Niigo was almost finished with, minutes before 25:00.
Her desktop computer was already connected to a Nightcord video call, as K starts to join in.
"—Everyone, you there?" Kanade asks the quite video call.
"Ah." Ena quickly unmutes her microphone and says that she's present.
"I'm here, K."
"Same here~" Mizuki's voice appears.
"Then, shall we start working? We're continuing where we left off during last noon right?" Kanade asks again.
"Yeah, I plan to finish up the cut of the hand reaching out that will be put in the chorus of the music video." Ena says while sketching.
"Oh! Enanan, you're totally motivated~" says Mizuki, trying to get a faint reaction out of Ena.
"If it goes well then, looks like we could complete this at noon tomorrow after all." Ena replied.
Noon tomorrow is also the time where Mafuyu might show up again on call after she gave a "maybe" last time she joined the call at her school lunch break.
"It's a video that the four of us made, so as expected, we need Mafuyu to be there too, right?" Ena thinks to herself.
"If I remember correctly, if I have the illustration by morning, it looks like Amia's work will also be done be noon, right?"
"Yep, the earlier the timing I get them, the chances that I make it in time gets higher~" Mizuki winks.
  Ena frowns.
"Oi, don't put weird pressure on me. Okay?"
Kanade chuckles quietly.

Minutes later past 25:00, everyone is doing their respective work for the upcoming song.
Ena continuously sketches and undoes again and again this drawing of a hand reaching out needed for the chorus of the song.
"This isn't it.." this phrase has been used every time she undoes the hand sketch.
"It shouldn't be outstretched fingers like these.. With how this looks now, it's gonna become a hand from someone who's helping.."
"According to the lyrics, "I want help" needs to be a hand from someone who wants to be saved."
She trails off a bit.
"Save, huh?"
"Saying "help" in itself does require courage, right?"
"But "Is it okay for me to say that?" Or "What if no one takes my hand?" can be considered as important details too.."
She focuses again, this time becoming more determined to write the sketch she sees in her head.
"It's hard to express it, but thanks to Mafuyu's lyrics, I see the image properly."
"If it's like this, then I can do it.. no, I HAVE to pull it off now."
She continues to sketch.

It's now sunrise, light pierces through Ena's room curtains. Ena wake up after dozing of on her desk as she notices she's still somehow connected with the call.
She yawns, and unmutes.
"I'm back.."
"Welcome back~ we're you able to sleep a bit?" Mizuki replies.
"Mhm, you?"
"I gave the music video to K, then slept a little, and K said she also slept a bit before the final finishes."
"I see then, glad we didn't stay up at night."
Kanade unmutes her microphone.
"Sorry, once I started working.. I ended up coming in late."
"Ah, welcome back to you too K~"
"Yuki hasn't come yet, so it's still fine."
"That's a relief, I'll be done with a little more adjustments, so I'll be working, okay?" Kanade puts her headphones on.
"Okay." Ena nods in agreement.
As Kanade mutes herself on the call, Mizuki mumbles something.
"It would be nice if Yuki could make it."
"She did say that she'd contact us if she wouldn't. If there isn't any contact from her since then, that means she'll come, right?"
"True."
Mizuki chuckles a bit.
"... Once she sees the complete Music Video, I wonder what she'll say?"
"Probably nothing in particular.."
"But but! I'm preetty confident of this one you know! You drew the additional illustrations for me too."
Mizuki continues.
"With or without it, makes the end result different you know? You're pretty confident in your illustrations this time, right?"
"...Well, yeah. The image in mind was easy to see this time around, I wasn't struggling as much during drawing.." Ena smiled.
"Right, right!!" Mizuki snaps at that.
"That's why, I think it would be nice if Yuki is happy with the final product, and not just our fans waiting for it."

Ena agrees to Mizuki's statement and nods.
"But, Yuki is Yuki. It's better to expect not that much from her."
