It was dark outside.

The sounds of heavy rain pouring from beyond the windows and curtains continues to fall to the ground... harshly.
Behind these windows, is a small-sized messy room, filled with note sheets, crumbled papers, music speakers with instruments and equipment, empty instant noodle cups, boxes, and other sorts of clattered items which were are dimly visible from a blue light coming from three montiors on the main table placed on the room's corner.
A girl, who's reaching her late teens, sits before these monitors on a chair with five small wheels that roll around.
She has blue eyes, and very long grayish-white hair, long enough that it almost reaches her ankles, and has on an unzipped dark blue tracksuit jacket, a black shirt underneath and short light blue shorts.
She's just sitting there.. waiting.. her face has a mildly stressed look as she stares on her table.
Her phone is on standby, lying on the table, she keeps it near arms reach ready if something comes up.
"... Mafuyu, I wonder if she's okay..." the girl says, looking very worried.
"I heard from Luka that she would talk with her mom, but.."
"Talking with, that person, huh..." she mutters to herself, becoming slightly more concerned.
Her phone unexpectedly vibrates on the table, the screen lights up and a hologram flashes up.
It's as if, a small guy appeared from the screen, his full body all the way to his feet shown in a somewhat transparent light were standing on the screen as if it was the floor.
The hologram displays a hit popular Vocaloid named KAITO, but with a slight variation of appearance and personality compared to the original.
He wears a gray-to black blend frilly and ripped-on-the-end dress shirt, a red ribbon tied under the collar of the dress, has long white sleeves, a belt strap handing and clipped onto the clothing, followed by long black pants and without wearing shoes.
"...Kaito? W-why..—" the girl asked to the hologram.
KAITO, with a serious look on his face, speaks to her back without hesitation.
     [...Go outside.]
"Eh?" she replied, with a slight confusion.
[She, needs you.] says the hologram, his serious tone not softening.
"By she.. you mean.." the girl thinks to herself for a bit.. until realising.
    "...!!"
In an instant, she stands up from her chair and dashes out of her room, opens her main door from her own house and runs out into the street in the pouring rain.
She looks around in every direction she could, squinting and looking around for her. Sprinting and walking through the neighbourhood late in the night.
"Mafuyu! Where are you..!?" she calls out in the rain, as she continues to walk further down the neighbourhood road.
"......Kanade......" a soft but fragile voice replies despite the loud rainpour.
Kanade looks to the direction of the voice and sees another girl, exhausted, flowing tears in her dark lifeless empty eyes with the same speed as the rain pours all around them, and is drenched with rain water on their school uniform more than Kanade's tracksuit.
The girl's right palm is gripping on her left arm of her school uniform, has long curly purple hair with a ponytail but is completely drenched from the rain.
She looks down on the puddled ground, Kanade walks closer with worry.
     "Mafuyu..."
Mafuyu, the girl with the drenched purple hair sniffs and tears up more.. as the two girls immediately share a small embrace.
Mafuyu rests her eyes on Kanade's shoulder, as Kanade reaches for her back softly with her right hand.
The crying girl tries to say something to her, her speech being all watery similar to the puddles and rainwater falling constantly.
     "...Kanade, I..!"
     "I, p-properly, said it! To M-Mom.."
Her crying voice starts to muffle her speech once more, as she continues to try and get her words out.
     "But.. but.......!"
She takes a long pause, her tears flowing down her eyes.
"...Mafuyu.." Kanade replies, patting Mafuyu's back lightly.
"I..I.. wonder why.. I-I'm here..." Mafuyu tearfully continues.
"Mom, was r-really angry... s-she looked sad.."
Her sniffles start to increase.. she grips onto Kanade's shoulders with her two hands.
     "Despite that, I..."
"I wonder if e-everything is.. my fault..."
Her hands shakes as she tries to grip on to Kanade's shoulders, looking down on her shoulder with complete desperation and disorientation.
"No more.. anything... I-I don't know.. about anything.. anymore.."
Kanade takes a small pause.. to look down on the ground.. what she can only do is to comfort the girl and listen.
But.. at least a few words that could help with that, can start too.
"... It's okay, Mafuyu." she rubs her back carefully, reassuring her.
"It's alright.. it's really alright.." she says once more.
"You're okay now.. don't worry.. don't worry.." she reassures her one more time.

Mafuyu takes a deep but shaky breath and her shakiness becomes more cleared and calmer, tears still flowing from her eyes as she looks at Kanade directly.
"I.. don't wanna.. come back there.. yet.."
"I- don't k-know why.. my heart.. feels cold.. there.. I don't know... why.."
Her head looks to the ground before Kanade, her hands still on the sides of her shoulder.
     "P-please.. help me... please.."
Kanade puts on a determined face, and pats Mafuyu's back, indirectly telling her to look at her again.
Mafuyu puts her face up, her face being all watery, and confused all over.. looks at her.
"My place is not too far from here. We have to go. Now." she says to the teary eyed girl.
"We can't stay in this rain much longer, can you still walk?"
The girl nods.. and continues to sniffle.
Kanade holds the troubled girl's hand softly, her warm touch softening her emotion as they walk to the nearby house where she lives.
Kanade opens up her main door and they both enter, their drenched clothing makes a lot of droplets fall to the floor like they jumped into a pool of water.
Kanade quickly closes the door, muffling the heavy rain noises outside.

As it still continues to do so, that night.

A/N: I took the descriptions of the appearances for Kanade, KAITO and Mafuyu from the Project Sekai Wiki. And copied the story of the final chapter for "To The Masked Me, Farewell" from channels Puroeng and Meltdown and then did my own continuation off of that story.

I didn't translate the event story because I got 0 Japanese knowledge.. so.. credits to to both those channels for the translations and the Wiki for the appearance description.

so yeah. thanks for reading ch1
from a fellow Niigo silly supporter~
