Me and Toby sat in the physiatrist waiting room, with only one other person here besides us. I hooded girl. She sat next to Toby and started to talk to him. Toby talked to her, going on his usual tangent about the faceless ghost outside his window.
"My name's Natalie." She said, her face still covered.
"T-Toby..." He stuttered out, shaking.
"You're a cute one Toby." She gigged. "I like you." She slipped a piece of paper into his jacket pocket. "Text me sometime." she gigged.
Toby was staring into space, not really paying any attention. "Sure." He blinked. I squeezed his arm protectively. He may be crazy but I still love him.
"Rodgers? Toby Rodgers?" Called out a woman with a clipboard.
"Here." I call out, as me and Toby walked into the physiatrists office. "I'll wait outside." I smiled and kissed his cheek before leaving him. I waited just outside the door, and I could hear what was being said inside.
Once the doctor arrived, she started asking Toby questions. They were all answered correctly but then Dr. Oliver started calling out his name and no response. About the 4-5 try he clicked back to reality.
I sat outside that office for the whole hour. I grabbed his arm and helped him home after, driving him back home.
It was night time and we were in bed together. I snuggled up close to him and he held me close. I knew he still loved me. He just couldn't show it.
I couldn't sleep so I sat up and looked outside the window, out to where Toby said he could see the ghosts. I looked for what felt like hours before something appeared the disappeared within the second. I blinked hard and rubbed my eyes before blaming it on how late it was.
I got myself comfy again, and as I was just about to sleep, Toby started yelping and moaning in his sleep. He wouldn't stop moving and he started to sweat. I tried to wake him up but to no avail. This lasted for about 10 minutes before he woke with a start, sitting up straight and holding his chest. I hugged him in reassurance and he hugged back and started to sob.
"I-I love you Becky. Never leave me please. Never forget about me." He managed to say, through sobs.
"I love you too. I wouldn't dare you leave you." I replied. I will never forget him. I shall live for him.
