Protect the past, for the future: Part 3

[Lucy's House]

"We need to treat his bruises, please?" Lucy said in pleading tone.

Grayson who's the younger, shooked his head "I can't, i will not let you see my brother's face- our faces. " he look down, avoiding Lucy's gaze.

Since that incident, the younger one said to Lucy and Gray that they must not see the boys faces- so Gray carefully took Grey on Lucy's house without trying to look at Grey's face.

"But, why?" Lucy tries to walk to Grayson's direction but the child quickly runs towards Grey's, which is in Lucy's bed and still unconscious. 

"My brother said so... and I need to listen to him cause he's older. ." Grayson look at his brother who's still sleeping peacefully ".. of one minute and 24 seconds. " he added.

Gray and Lucy both tried not to laugh when Grayson added the exact time of how Grey is older than him.

Grayson pouted while he saw the two adults' reaction "what?" He ask.

"Nothing.." Lucy and Gray both said in chorus, trying not to show their smile.

Lucy sigh while smiling then sat at her couch beside Gray.

Seconds past, and they cant help it but to stare at the children- both thinking on what happened earlier.

Gray's hand quickly turn into a fist, just remembering about that makes his blood boil in anger. 

While Lucy, bit her lower lip, trying to stop her eyes to water. 

Right now, they can't believe that they are having this feeling towards to some strangers. 

Who really are this two?

"He fell asleep too, looks like he's tired too." Gray said while looking at Grayson besides Grey.

"You can't blame him, he's just a child too Gray." Lucy said with a little bit smile on her face.

Lucy noticed that Gray's hand is forming into a fist. 

"Gray..." she said in low voice and worried tone.

"They are just kids yet they experienced this kind of treatment. " Gray tries to control his anger. 

Lucy smiled sadly on what she heard, remembering her childhood- even Gray and the others have their own sad/tragic childhood. 

"Earlier, I felt like I'm going to kill those bastards after I saw what they did on them. " Gray gritted his teeth before sighing "good thing they are smart enough or else." He added in deep dark tone. 

Lucy place her hands over Gray's which is already a fist- its hard as rock and it proves that he is really angry, Lucy have seen this kind of Gray but this is different. 

"It's alright now, Gray- the kids are already safe. " Lucy gently squeeze Gray's hand and she felt that his grip loosen up. 

Gray sigh deeply to calm himself, he look down.

"Why..?" He said, almost a whisper- making Lucy to look at him curiously. 

"Why am I like this when it comes to them? I don't even know those kids. " - Gray

"I felt the same too, and I keep asking that question." Lucy said as she look down also, still holding Gray's hand. 

"That's because, we're connected. ." A small voice said, they quickly look where it came from- and its in Lucy's bed. 

They saw the kid who's suppose to be unconscious but now is slowly getting up.

The kid look down and hold at the blanket that Lucy used to cover him and his brother. 

Lucy and Gray got surprised, one of the kid is already awake? And it's the one who beaten up. 

The kid heard everything cause he's already awake when Lucy covered both of them. 

"Connected? " Gray and Lucy said in chorus. 

Grey nods as he grip tightly on the blanket, it's looks like he need to tell them the truth- he really cant take it anymore, especially now that he and his brother experienced that kind of danger.

Lucy and Gray took a peek on each other before looking at Grey's again. 

"What do you mean by that? " Lucy asked, they are both confuse yet worried.

Grey slowly lift his head up, then he hold at his hoody.

And the next thing they know is, there's a kid who's sitting in Lucy's bed and he looks exactly like Gray.

Ill update this story every week, (Sunday) since I have work and I didn't expect that it will be long but guess what? Im not finish writing it in my notebook, and I didn't even reach the climax yet -_-
