(skip forward a couple days)
~Ever since I was a small child my parents have dug it into my brain these 3 rules. Be Obedient. Follow the Rules. and Smile. Every royal has to follow these rules or else. I never knew what the else was until now.~
"Now remember the rules girls." My mother says to us.
Were on our way to the shops downtown, looking for formal wear. Although we have servants to do it sometimes mother wants to go out ourselves to get paparazzied. (don't tell her I told you that) Father stayed back at the palace to sign documents for the upcoming press conference. Leanor and I look out the window at all of the commoners, doing their daily errands, buying groceries for their families at home, going to the parks, some kids our age just hanging out in front of the corner shop. I wonder what its like for them to do such basic things.
I wonder how it feels to be able to relax in front of a shop or walk down the street in streetwear without worrying about paparazzi or robbers or people trying to collect our hair and sell it. Just as I'm finishing thinking the car stops and the driver gets out of the car and opens the back door. Mother steps out first and commoners scream and shout, paparazzi camera flash.
Next Leanor climbs out and I climb out last as usual and we start walking.
~Infanta Sofia wears a pink picnic dress with almond color sandals. Princess Leanor wears a white picnic dress with off white wedge sandals. Queen Letizia wears a half green half white long dress with white macramé sandals.~
~The royals walk into the store Cartier first and look around. Elevator music captivates our ears.~
"Oh! Royals!" the store worker bows "how are you doing today!"
"we just wanted to do some shopping around and this was our first stop." She looks at all the jewelry.
Leanor looks at a bracelet and says "mother isn't this delightful"
Mother look at the bracelet and says
"it is quite delightful Princess."
I speak up "the flashes from the paparazzi outside are blinding me"
The store worker answers back "Oh yes! Lots of high profile individuals come here so we installed a black out curtain for privacy"
He walks to the window and presses a button, all the curtains come down and the flashing goes away.
"We'll take this bracelet right here and this one" Mother points to a dazzling bracelet with rhinestones imprinted on the sides and diamonds all around the sides.
"okay! that will be 8901.80 Euro. but I'm sure you can afford it!" he says typing in the information on the register.
After a couple more shops were exhausted so we walk back to the truck.
"You are a rotten bitch!!" a woman yells at my mother "and so are your bitchy children!" the woman throws a large red tomato at my mother.
Mother looks down at the tomato sliding down her shirt and she follows the rules she remains calm, smiles at cameras and walks properly back to the car. Obedience, Follow the Rules, Smile. The servants open the car door and we climb in. Once we are in the car I can feel my mothers tense vibe but she maintains a calm face. Leanor stares out the window silently.
~Back at the palace~
I can hear my parents voices through the palace halls. "She threw a tomato at me! My dress is ruined!" my mother exclaims
"Letizia you did the right thing, you followed the rules. You stayed calm, obedient, you smiled. You didn't let one thing get to you" my father answers back quieter and calmer than my mothers did.
Both my parents go into a hush whisper so i cant hear anything else.
I change into my pajamas instead of the stylist changing me tonight.
~Infanta Sofia wears a baby pink silk pajama set with my baby pink silk slippers~
I quickly let sleep take me away.
