Sadie's salvation

Chapter 2

Sadie pov

"Mummy" I feel a small hand stroking my face, as my eyes flutter open I see Eli sat up looking at me with a smile "hi baby" he monuvers his body to cuddle into my chest.

I feel the springs of the shitty mattress poking into my back, when we arrived at the hotel it was around 6:30 ish so when I look at the flip phone it doesn't shock me to see that it's 5pm, a very long sleep yes, but it's the best sleep I've had in an extremely long time.

"Are you hungry baby" Eli quickly nods his head and I giggle but when I sit up immediately feel like I'm going to collapse, I've gone a lot longer without food but with a baby growing inside of  me it's really taking it out of me.

But regardless I don't let Eli see that I'm feeling shit, I grab the small bag I packed and pulled out the couple of granola bars and other snack I packed, I give Eli majority of what I have and only take a bit for myself.

We have a few more cuddle before I decide on bathing us both, I would shower but I have zero amount of energy to be able to stand for long and also clean Eli.

So I run us a nice warm bath, I'm shocked that this hotel has warm water I won't lie, but I'm very appreciative of it, I clean myself and Eli before I get out and dry myself off "come on baby", he looks at me with pleading eyes "few more minutes mummy"

Who can resist that face, so I get dressed whilst Eli spends some more time in the water, I look out the hotel window, it's so weird to see where I grew up again, I've missed it so much which makes me laugh because I always said to Florence that I was gonna leave as soon as I could and I can't be happier to be back.

I feel myself getting more Dizzy, so I hurry Eli up from out of the bath and clothe him.

"where are we going mummy" he questions as I slip his shoes on, "we are going to see my old friend Eli, she's a lovely woman and I'm hoping she'll help us or at least you" he nods as he slides of the bed and we make our way to the front door.

There's no way I can guarantee that Florence will be where I'm going to but since the age 9 she's always told me that no matter what she will live at this house, she said it's her dream and she will make it come true, and one thing about Florence is she's determined so I believe that she did it, I mean she will only be 21 but I believe she's done it.

It's a long shot, but I have no other shot to take.

I feel my body swaying as we are 20 minutes into the 30 minute walk, I thank that I know this area amazingly well, "my legs are hurting" Eli says in a soft tone, I pick him up Immediately knowing that he isn't one to complain and if he does it means he's at all he can take.

My legs feel like jelly and tears are threatening to fall as I turn the corner to the house that I pray Florence lives at, I get nervous when I see multiple motorbikes parked out front and loads of cars.

My anxiety only increases when I head the chatter and laughter of what sounds like lots of men, "mummy" Eli says in a panic "it's okay baby" I push him up in my arms again to stop him from falling.

I have no choice now, I have to go in my legs feel like they are going to give way.

The back garden gate is wide open and that's where I hear the voice, I know this is extremely stupid and I wouldn't do it if I wasn't desperate, so I follow the voice and come through and see many tall tattooed men with beers in their hands.

My hands start to shake until I see a group of woman and children who are running about, and suddenly bright blond hair catches my eye and I immediately recognise it as Florence, and for the first time in a long time I allow a tear to escape my eye.

She must of felt me looking at her and when she sees me she gasps "Sadie" all chatter stops "Florence" I say in a whisper as I can't bring myself to speak louder.

She runs over to me,with tears pouring,  I feel myself sway even more and started to get extremely light headed, I manoeuvre Eli out to her and he looks back at me confused, that poor boy.

"Grab him" as she takes him out of my arms my legs give way and all I hear is her shouting my name and Eli crying for me as the world around me turns dark.
