Sadie's salvation

Chapter 14

Aaron's pov

I can tell there is something up with Sadie, we are sat in the front room just me and her whilst Eli is having a play date with a friend from school. Seeing him in his school uniform the other week made me smile, I felt so proud of him.

I pull Sadie to me and sit her on my lap so she's straddling me, she has to sit further back because of her bump so I place my drink down and wrap my arms around her lower back. "What on your mind" I question "just things" she vaguely answers "care to share" she looks at me skeptically.

"Just something Florence mentioned the other week" I hm as a gesture for her to carry on "feel free to say no or to think on it, but I was wondering wether you wanted to be in the delivery room with me when I give birth" she looks down to avoid eye contact and I can tell she's nervous.

"Of course princess, that would be a great honour" her head shoots up "really" I nod "of course I'll be there" I lean over and place a kiss on her lips, "I know there's something else playing on you mind, I won't push it but please do speak to me when your ready"

"I will do, and thank you Aaron for being so supportive not only to me but for Eli your a great father figure to him and I know he really enjoys being around you"

"No need to thank me princess, I enjoy being there for both you and Eli and I'll be doing the say for baby boy" I kiss her bump and then her and she immediately looks so much more relaxed.

She shifts her body so she's sat sideways in my lap and she rest her head on my shoulder, we sit in a comfortable silence, I want to ask her out, ask her to be my girlfriend but if I'm being honest I'm shit scared, I don't want her to rush into anything and I'm not stupid I know when I take that step with her I do become a dad not just a father figure, which is a scary thought, but I know that's what I want.

"Sadie" she hm's "can I ask you a question" she lifts her head of my shoulder and gives me her full attention "am I rushing you into something your not ready for" she looks at me confused "how would you being doing that" she questions "there's no denying we are close and I don't know whether you want to live a bit and live a single life after the trauma you went through"

After my explication she seems to get what I'm saying to her "your not rushing me not at all, when I left that was my plan to just be with Eli and the baby and work it out but then I met you and you bring me a lot of comfort and you've been a big help Aaron I appreciate you more than you will ever know" she kisses me and rush her hand through my hair.

"I'm glad I'm not rushing you, well I guess that leads me to my next question" I clear my throat before I carry on "I know our situation is a bit different than others but I've been mesmerised by you since my first conversation with you, and I think it's only right, so Sadie would you be my girlfriend"

I can tell by her shocked face that she was not at all expecting that, I sit nervously waiting for her answer, until she breaks out into a big smile "yes of course I will be" she kisses me over and over and the happiness that is plastered all over her face makes me smile more than I ever have before.

"Gosh, you could of answered a bit quicker my heart was in my arse" she giggles "you so dramatic" she kisses me once again but I don't complain this is like heaven.

"How are we going to tell Eli" she question "well if you would let me I would like to take him to a motorbike show, it's not to far from here it's in a weeks time and I would love to tell him there"

"Your amazing Aaron and so thoughtful, of course you can" I feel so lucky to be in a position where I know have a beautiful girlfriend and two children, I obviously know that they aren't mine biologically but I full intended to be their dad and take on that roll, and I will do it proudly.

"Thank you princess" we sit together for the next hour just kissing and smiling and just being together and I've never been happier.
