Sadie's salvation

Chapter 9

Sadie pov

"Thank you for driving me, and just coming with me in general you didn't have to" he shakes his "Don't be silly, I'll help out where ever I can" I give him a smile of gratitude and look around the waiting room.

My knee shakes up and down before Aaron places a hand in my knee to calm me down "I don't know wether they will let you in actually because your nit the father" I say getting more panicked, I don't know what it is  about this place but my anxiety is through the roof.

"Hey it's ok, breath for Sadie, we can just say I'm the father if your comfortable with doing that" I nod my head and place my hand over the top of his "miss poay" we both get up and follow the woman into the room.

"Hello, I'm your midwife" she shakes my hand "and you are" she turns to Aaron "Aaron romanta, the father" he looks at me with a reassuring smile "and your miss poay, correct" she questions with a smile "yes, but you can call me Sadie"

"Okay Sadie, well if you can please lay in the table and pull up your shirt, is this your first child" I follow her instructions and Aaron takes a place at my side "no, my second" she smile "aw, they grow up so fast don't they" I nod and agree, I feel more at ease as she's very nice.

"So, you can both look at the screen, the gel will be cold, pre warning" she puts the gel on my stomach and gets the wand that goes in my stomach, immediately I hear the swishing sound, without even thinking about it I grab Aaron's hand, and I'm happy that he just holds on.

"Wow" we both say "so that your baby, everything is looking healthy and all good, do you know the gender yet" this is only my second scan so that haven't even been an option as of now "no, but I" i stop and correct myself "we would like to know" she smiles, "are you ready"

Even though Aaron isn't the father so this doesn't really concern him I look to him for confirmation, he smiles and nods "Yeah we are ready"

"It's a boy" I gasp and smile "a boy" I repeat back to myself "congratulations mum and dad, would you like some pictures" I'm to shocked to Speak back, "yes please" Aaron answer for me, he hugs me "congratulations Sadie" he whispers.

Even though I knew obviously that I was pregnant, finding the gender out just makes it feel so real, and to know that it's another little boy makes me very happy.

"Here you go" the midwife hands us three pictures of the baby, we thank her and leave "can I take you somewhere" Aaron ask "Yeah" I have no hesitation, I know he would never put me in harms way.

After not a long drive we arrive at a small cafe, he opens the door for me and a sweet aroma instantly fills my nose, "my mum used to take me here all the time as a kid, we still sometimes go, but I thought this would be a good celebration" I smile "thank you Aaron, really thank you"

He guides me to the counter where the display of desert are "get whatever you want" he's to kind "there's so many, I don't know"

"I'll pick for you, go find a seat and I'll be with you" I walk off and find a cosy corner and not long after Aaron put down a big box "there's quite a few options, but there's also two in there for Eli" and at that moment I start crying, I can't help it.

He shoots up and sits next to me "what have I done, I'm sorry" he looks so panicked "no no, you've just been so sweet and then you thought of Eli, and my hormones are clearly everywhere"

Aaron lets out a sigh of relief "thank god, I thought I had upset you" I shake my head, he picks out a desert from the box, "I think you'll like this" and gosh was he correct "your gonna have to bring me here a lot because this has now become a pregnancy craving" he laughs "I will bring you hear whenever you want"

We spend a good hour just chatting and eating before we decide to go and get Eli.

I knock on the door and feel Aaron come up behind me "you know you don't have to wait, I've took up enough of your time"

"Don't be silly, I've had a really good day" the door swings open and it's Troy holding baby Stephan who seems very upset "Aaron" he says sounding confused "you alright mate" Troy nods and let's us in.

"Kids are in the front room playing, Florence is in an important call and I can't get Stephan to stop crying" Troy admits whilst leading us to the children "would you like to try" he nods his head immediately and passes him over "thank you"

I rock the baby and the cries stop pretty soon "babies can sense your emotions" I tell Troy, Aaron looks at me with an emotion I can't figure out.

"Mum" Eli shouts and runs over "inside voice baby" he nods "Aaron" he jumps into his arms and hugs him tight "you ok kiddo" Eli nods and rest his head on Aaron's shoulder, "she will probably be on the call for a while, so you guys are free to go"

I look at me Aaron and my heart warms, seeing how comfortable Eli is in his arms, I just wish Eli had a dad like that.
