I was happy to hear the good news but all of a sudden, I heard a radio sitting on a barrel crackle to life and I heard a stern sounding voice on the other end asking if anyone is there. We all looked at each other and Duck in the background of the call asked what was happening, I told him that someone is trying to reach out to us, him and the others on the other end were a little surprised but urged me to respond and so I did, I told whoever it was that I am a survivor of the epidemic and my name is Felix Shale and I'm an engine driver of James the red engine. The person on the other end asked if I was with anyone else and I said yes, I was with the crews of Edward, Thomas, Duck, Oliver, Percy, and Henry, who were a bit far from us. This seemed to calm the person a little as he sounded slightly panicked, he then asserted himself and he was a soldier of the military who was dispatched along with a whole team to the railway to evacuate any surviving civilians or engines that weren't infected, I understood but then I realized something, "any others infected"? That can't be... Arthur as far as I know is the only one infected, so how is this possible? As if the solider was reading my mind, he stated that he found out this epidemic is much more worse than we all thought, after the chaos started yesterday, scientists who managed to get a grasp on the situation ran tests on the virus hoping to get an answer soon, and that day they did... THE VIRUS WAS SPREADING THOUGH THE AIR. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, instantly I started to panic thinking that at any moment any one of us could drop dead due to it. But the soldier reassured me that as long as I stay inside a non-infected building, along with the engines, we would be okay. He then stated that he and the whole military along with S. W. A. T and the police are currently residing at Barrow-in-Furness just near the Vicarstown bridge. I breathe a sigh of relief but soon asked the soldier when they will get onto the island and he said he doesn't know when but assured me that they will as soon as they can. I also asked him if it's safe to scout around the island for more survivors or engines, and he recommended that we all wear protection like face masks to keep us safe from breathing in the virus, the soldier also stated that the state of Britain has figured out that the virus can only affect you via inhalation, speaking of the virus, they seemed to have figured out the name of it which is, "VA7-K1", the symptoms were headache, vomiting, stress in vision, and loss of appetite. But as long as we wore protection it could not harm us, so that was atleast something we didn't have to worry about. I then told the soldier that a bunch of other engines and survivors were currently residing at Vicarstown near the end of the line, he thanked me for the information and with a final goodbye, the radio turned off. James asked me what we were going to do now, and I said, "we have to prepare James, we have to prepare"...
