"Well, I'm glad you ended up here. It's for the best. I'm not glad the way you ended up here, though. I'm so sorry, Cole. No one deserves that. No one should have to go through what you had to. I'm so so glad you had Sam there to help you. I'm assuming you still keep in contact with him?" Jake said, rather a statement than a question, to which Colby nodded 'yes' to. He didn't want to talk much. He just wanted to lay with Jake for all eternity.

"Do you think I could meet him sometime..? I'd love to thank him personally.. for saving you, you know? And as for Devyn, may I have your phone?" Jake asked, and to which Colby handed it over. Jake went on messages, and typed fast, his fingers gliding across the bright screen.

After typing for a while, he handed the phone back to Colby, to make sure he read the message before he sent it. The message read,
'Hey, Devyn. This is Jake. Did you ever once give Colby a chance to talk about how he was feeling? Or have you always been a self-centered bitch? Because if so, god damn. You need some help. The way you talk to him as if you own him, is fucking disgusting. Im keeping Colby safe. Bold of you to assume automatically that I'm a lunatic cerial killer rapist. I could never hurt someone. Besides Colby's dad, but that's besides the point. Colby is his own person, that can handle himself. So, next time you speak to him, watch your goddamn mouth. I have no issue becoming a cerial killer. Fuck you. And to Sam, thank you so much, dude. You've helped Colby through so much, and I don't know if he's told you this, but he really appreciates you. If you don't mind, maybe we could meet up in person? With Colby, of course. Not Devyn though, I don't like that bitch so far. Thank you again, Sam.'

Colby smiled. A true, genuine smile. One that he hasn't done with anyone besides Sam after his mom died. Jake really cared about him. Truly cared. Colby hit send on the message, and without talking, Colby pulled Jake into a affectionate hug.
"Thank you. Thank you.. so, so much.." Colby pushed out. He was trying his best to keep his voice from cracking.
"No problem, Colby. I care about you. I hope you know that. I know we haven't known each other for long, at all, but I still care. I understand what you went through, and for that, I'm so sorry." Jake pulled away from the hug, and let Colby lay on his chest.

The boys laid in silence until they heard Colby's phone go off. Colby unlocked it, and let Jake see, as he was reading the message.
'Who the fuck are you to call me a self-centered bitch!? Fuck you too! Cole is too good for you, you fucking creep. Since when have you called him Colby?? Did he let you?? Do you care about his boundaries!?'
The message from Devyn read.
"Devyn, seriously, shut the fuck up! I agree with Jake! You've been acting like Colby's your puppet!! He's not! He's his own person, and there's nothing you can change about that. He's allowed to make his own decisions, and he's allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants. And to Jake, yes. I'd love to meet you! Tomorrow work? Text me the place."
Sam was always going to stick up for Colby. No matter what. Sam was his my best friend, and always will be.
Devyn replied,
'So now everyone just hates me?? Thats really fucking great! Thanks! And since when have you been allowed to call Cole 'Colby'?? He's not comfortable with it!!'
Colby sighed, and took the phone out of Jake's hands, and quickly typed,
'No, I don't mind. I just didn't want you to call me that. I don't trust you, Devyn. Maybe someday we can retry this friend thing, but not now. For now, I have Sam and Jake. I trust them. They listen to me, they care about me, you didn't. You cared about yourself. Only yourself. You lied to others when it was about me, only because you wanted me to be yours. You wanted to be the only one to be friends with me, and I don't know why. Please stop. Leave us alone.'

The brunette hit send on the phone, and handed it back to Jake, seeing that Sam had texted him back.
Jake opened the message, and typed back, but Colby had no idea what he was typing. Jake hit the send button, but then chuckled before handing the phone back,
"Nice name." He smiled, making Colby check Sam's name on his phone. The name read, 'Little Rat🐀 🫶🏻'. Colby laughed with Jake.
"What's your number? So I could have your contact?" Colby handed Jake his phone.
Jake made a new contact, and took a selfie, he was so pretty.. Jake handed the phone back to Colby, who then put the phone down.

We're going to meet up with Sam tomarrow, 1:00, at Campbell park, by the way, so I'd go to sleep now, if I were you, concreting it's now 10:26." Jake shrugged, and laid down.

Colby pushed his back against Jake's wanting to have enough room, but he didn't want to be front-to-back with Jake, and make him uncomfortable.
"Aren't you gonna take your shirt off? Your gonna get hot." Jake asked, not moving from his spot.
"Uhh.." Colby said, not knowing if he should. He didn't want Jake to see all his scars, or his stomach, which he was very insecure about..
"I wont look, unless your comfortable with it." Jake said, still not moving from his previous spot.
"Okay.. you can look.." Colby said, slowly inching out of the bed. Jake turned around, so he was now facing Colby who was standing in the room; taking his shirt off. Jake stared. Not blinking. Not moving. Not speaking. Nothing.
"I.. uhhh-" Colby didn't know what to say, so he tried covering up his stomach with his arms.
"Awwh why'd you cover it? Your so pretty. I think your perfect." Jake smiled, and Colby removed his arms.
"Thank you," he smiled at Jake; who nodded.

Colby laid by Jake, doing the same position, except this time Jake wrapped his arms around Colby's torso, pulling him closer. Colby laid there in silence with Jake, slightly confused, until both boys fell asleep.
