"Hey, Jake? You okay?" Colby asked his boyfriend, who has went unresponsive.
"Huh? Oh.. yeah, sorry. I zoned out." Jake shook his head, and then rested it on the table.
"Are you sure your okay? You don't look okay. You look stressed." Colby reassuringly placed a hand on Jake's shoulder.
"Yes, I said I'm fine. Leave it. You haven't even known me for that long- you don't know what I look like when I'm stressed or not." Jake grew defensive, and quickly moved his shoulder, causing Colby's hand to slip off.

"Woah, okay then. Fuck you too." Colby let out a small laugh, joking about it, trying to leave it behind.
"Yeah, fuck me." Jake growled and left a confused Colby in the kitchen, alone.

Colby ate his cereal, and then started heading back up to his room. On his way there, he had passed Jake's room, and heard a soft sobbing sound. Colby stopped, was Jake crying? Or was it just a movie. Colby wanted to check, if it was Jake, he didn't want to leave his boyfriend there alone crying.

"Jake? Babe,, are you okay? Can you please open the door?" Colby gently knocked. He heard shuffling in the room, and then the door opened just a little bit. The room behind Jake was covered in smoke, Jake's eyes were red and swollen, his face puffy, and he looked extremely tired.
"What do you want." Jake slurred, a scent of alcohol and weed coated his breath.

"Jake, are you drunk? High?" Colby asked concerned, his brows furrowed.
"No. Y-your not my dad! I d-don't know why it mat-ters" Jake hiccuped.
"Yeah, I'm not your dad, but I am your boyfriend. Are you okay? I heard crying. You can talk to me, Jake." Colby placed a hand on Jake's.
"You say that— but d-do you really mean it? That's what I-I'm wondering." Jake rolled his eyes, and closed the door.

Colby stood outside the boys door. Frozen in confusion and fear for his boyfriend. He didn't want to force himself into Jake's room and make the boy talk to him. He decided he should go to the room mates, maybe they would know what to do.

"Hey, Griffin?" He knocked on the door. Jake seemed to be closest with Griffin, "are you awake?" Colby called out.
Griffin opened the door, a headset on his head, "uhh, yeah, what's up?" He asked Colby.
"It's Jake.. I was eating downstairs and when I came back up I heard crying, when he opened the door, his breath smelled like alcohol-"
"And weed." Griffin cut Colby off. "Goddamnit!" Griffin through his Headset off and rushed past Colby, to Jake's room.

He didn't even knock, he just rushed in.
"Fuck! Go get Mike and Kevin!" Griffin called out to Colby, smoke leaving the room.
"Kevin! Mike! Get up! It's Jake!" Colby banged on both the boys doors. Kevin rushed out of his room first, running to Jake's room, and Mike shortly after. Colby followed both of the boys and waited in the doorway.
"Jake, we love you, but we talked about this! You can't just drink your problems away." Mike said, and he took the bottle of alcohol, and took it out from his room.
"C-col... Colby.." Jake stuttered, laying down on his bed.
"He wants you I think.." Kevin called out to Colby.

Colby sighed, and walked over to Jake's bed, and sat down next to him.
"Jake, what's going on?" Colby asked the boy that was laying down.
Jake started moving around, and placed his head on Colby's lap, wrapping his arms around the other boys torso.
"'M sorry.. s-so sorry,," Jake hiccuped.
"I know... it's okay, baby." Colby sighed, placing his hand in Jake's hair.
"Baby..?" Griffin asked.

"Oh- I... yeah.. we're dating.." Colby said, he couldn't cover it up from that.
"Oh." Griffin and Kevin said in unison.
"Well, I think you should know this. Jake struggles with his mental health, quite badly. He gets bad like this, he might not be the same for a while. He gets into really dark places like this, and just drinks, smokes, and.... Yeah.. after his first attempt, we put him in the mental hospital, but that didn't change anything. We thought he was getting better for a while, but then he does this. He's going to get worse. We just have to watch out for him.. take care of him." Griffin said, and Kevin had left. It seems like they have a hard time talking about it, because both males eyes were watering.

"Well, I'm gonna go.." Griffin smiled, and Colby nodded. The boy left, and closed the door behind him. "Babe, I'm here for you. I... I love you..." Colby smiled and kissed Jake's head, and laid down.
"I love you too, Mike.." Jake sighed, and fell asleep. Colby's heart ached. He wasn't Mike, would Jake rather have Mike..? Was Colby the reason Jake was struggling? Colby felt warm tears stream down his face.
