Without My Consent (prequel to His Eternal Kiss)

Let Jimin Win

 Looking around, he sees his hyungs, all dead by his own hands. He begins screaming, his tears not enough to express his sorrow and angst.  He has become what he feared most, and his mind and heart are shattering.

"I AM a monster!! I can't live like this. I'd rather they'd let me die."

Jimin and Taehyung had tried to wake him but couldn't. Jimin called for Yoongi, and he ran into the room and motioned for them to leave.

Yoongi lies beside Jungkook, pulling him in his arms. He enters Jungkook's mind, seeing the nightmare his maknae is having.

"Bun, I am here. You are safe. Listen to the sound of my voice. I'm with you now, and all is well." 

All he hears is Jungkook screaming he wants to die.

"Bunny, listen to me. Listen to my voice. You are not a monster, and you never will be. You are in a nightmare. Everything you see or think you have done is not real. I need you to listen to me. Do as your hyung tells you, and listen." 

In his nightmare, Jungkook starts to hear Yoongi-hyung's voice and stops screaming. "Oh my God, hyung, are you alive?" he gets up frantically, searching the house for his hyung.

He desperately calls out, "I need you to help me!! Please help me!"

"Listen to me. You are still in your nightmare. I am here, and you are safe. The others are alive and well."

Confused, Jungkook, his shoulders slumped and his head lowered, confessed, "I killed them, hyung."

"No maknae you did not. You are in a nightmare. I need you to walk out the door into the light."

"What?" He looks up, trying to find his hyung. He can hear but not see him. The monster in him starts looking for him, wanting to finish what he started. Jungkook tries to fight it. "No, no." He grabs his head. "Leave me alone! I won't hurt him!"

"Jungkook! Listen to me! Do as I say. You walk out the front door and into the light. Do it now!"

Hesitantly he starts walking towards the front door, his hand on the knob. He pauses.

"Now, open the door."

Jungkook opens the door and steps out, stepping into a dream of being with his hyungs, laughing and talking while playing Uno.

Yoongi can hear Jungkook laughing, feels his whole body relax, and knows he is now free of the nightmare. As Yoongi leaves him, he whispers in Jungkook's ear,

 "Let Jimin win at least once."

 Yoongi gets up and kisses Jungkook on the cheek before leaving his room. He looks back before opening the door to let Jimin and Taehyung know Jungkook is all right and that they can stay with him tonight till he awakes in the morning.

They are relieved to see the serene, peaceful look on Jungkook's face as he sleeps.

Jimin turns to Yoongi. "Will he be alright now?"

"Yes. I closed the door to his nightmares. He should sleep soundly now till morning. When he awakes, he should be ready to accept his new life."

Taehyung looks earnestly at his hyung, "Will he accept it? Will he be alright?"

Yoongi pats his shoulder, reassuring him, "Yes, he will be fine. It will take some time for him to adjust, and that is where we all come in to help."

He looks at them both. "I will be counting on you two especially to help him. Be with him day and night as his guides, the others will help when you need them. I will handle the hard questions and problems he  may have."

He smiles at them. "Don't be so sad. I believe J Hope is bringing home takeout tonight for dinner." 

Jimin and Taehyung both smile and start following Yoongi to the dining room. Then they hear a loud, jubilant "UNO!!" from the bedroom.

Jimin and Tae look confused. Yoongi is grinning. 

Jimin asks, "Did he just shout Uno?" 

Taehyung is laughing as Yoongi sighs heavily. "I told him to let you win."

Jimin stands still, hands on his hip, and gives Yoongi the side eye. "You told him to let me win? I can win on my own."

They all three burst into laughter. Taehyung says, "You planted a dream of him playing Uno with us and to let Jimin win? That's too funny. It will be the only time Jimin wins."

Jimin pushes Tae further up the hall as they laugh, going into the dining room together.
