I Guess I'm Not A Monster After All

 He stays beside the dog, waiting for him to heal. It wasn't long before Jungkook felt something wet touching his cheek. 

He opens one eye and sees the dog standing over him, licking his face. Jungkook laughs and sits up, hugging the dog.

"Are you all better now?" The dog licks his face. " Okay, okay, you're welcome." Jungkook laughs as he scratches the dog behind his ears before standing up.

The dog sits down, staring up at Jungkook. "Hmm, what should I name you?" The dog's tongue lolls out of the side of his mouth as if he is very happy.

 "I'll think of something later. Come on, boy, let's go home."

Jungkook picks him up, and in a fast blur, they reach the house. He kneels, letting the dog stand. He runs his hand over the dog, checking on him. " Are you still okay? We moved kind of fast."

The dog wags his tail and follows Jungkook inside.

J Hope, startled, leans over to look behind Jungkook, "What is that?"

"It's a dog." 

J Hope comes over, kneels beside the dog, and gently pets him. "Have you named him yet?" he asks Jungkook. Then he looks at the dog's cute eyes and asks, "What's your name?"

The dog's tail starts wagging happily, bamming the side of a large metal decorative pot they use as an umbrella holder. Each hit of his tail makes a  bam, bam, bam, bam noise.

Laughing, J Hope holds out his hand and says, "Hello, Bam, it's nice to  meet you." Bam puts his paw on J Hope's palm. J Hope laughs as he shakes Bam's paw and then looks up at his maknae.

"He's smart." J Hope says, causing Jungkook to smile. 

"I like that name. It suits him, hyung."

At this point, Yoongi had walked into the living room and stopped staring at Jungkook and the dog. Shocked at what he saw, he closed his eyes and counted to ten. "Maknae? Did you?"

 He lets out an audible sigh. "Is that our dog now?"

Bam walks over to Yoongi and circles him. Then, he lies at his feet, resting his nose on Yoongi's shoe. Yoongi grins and reaches down to pet him.

Jin, Jimin, and Taehyung walk in from the backyard, having played with Jay and Kay. The kittens jump out of Jimin and Tae's arms and run towards Bam. Everyone panics, thinking there will be a fight.

Instead, Bam stays lying down, and the kittens climb on him. He turns his head to lick their little faces, causing them to fall off. They climb right back up.

Everyone heaves a sigh of relief and starts laughing. Bam lowers his head to the floor and huffs a gentle sigh, resigned to his fate, as they climb all over him.

Jimin and Tae kneel beside the dog, laughing.

 "He likes cats." laughs Jimin.

Yoongi looks at Jungkook as the others are adoring the dog and kittens. 

"With me, Kook," says Yoongi.

Jungkook grimaces and follows Yoongi to his studio.

Once inside, Yoongi turns to him, "What did I tell you, maknae?"

Jungkook defends himself, "I made sure no one saw. I checked, and Bam was the only living thing around besides the birds and that rabbit he was chasing when he got hit by the car."

Yoongi sighs. "He seems like such a gentle dog. You know you will be responsible for him. That means walking, bathing, feeding, that sort of thing?"

Jungkook smiles, "Yes, hyung, all those things. Yes, I will if I can keep him, please?"

Yoongi thinks before answering. 'I can't seem to deny the maknae line anything these days. I'm becoming too much of a softy.' 

Then he says, "If it was anyone else . . ." He pauses, changing his mind on what he will say, and says instead, "He has no one else but us now. So yes, you can keep him, but YOU must take care of him."

"Yes, hyung. Thank you, I will." Jungkook heads for the door, knowing his 'scolding' is over.

He doesn't make it out the door before he hears, "Jungkook?"

He turns to face Yoongi, "Yes, hyung?"

"Try not to bring anything else home, would you please?"

Jungkook nods and excitedly leaves Yoongi's studio, looking to tell the others that Bam is theirs.

He goes back to where he left Bam, but he isn't there. He hears laughter and looks outside in the backyard. Everyone is playing with Bam and the kittens.

Jungkook says out loud, "I guess I'm not a monster after all." 

He was very pleased, thinking, 'I brought happiness to my hyungs and saved Jay, Kay, and Bam.'

Yoongi walks out the back door pass Jungkook, "Remember no more strays."
