Chapter 27

MAYRA'S POV:

After we finish our practice, we go for dinner. We meet Alice and Zain there and we have a small talk. Me and Niall are tired and so we participate the least.

"I am going to sleep guys," I say.

"No, wait Mayra," Zain says suddenly.

"Hmm. Why?"

"I wanted to ask your plan for the vacations."

"After the competition I am going home."

"Bangalore, right?" Alice intervens.

"Yep."

"Niall, what if we go to our farmhouse there? It will be fun."

"You have a farmhouse there?" I am shocked.

"Yes," he says, "it will be an amazing idea. This way we will be with Mayra too."

"Yeah. It is cool. Me, Zain, you, Mayra, Rohan, Anya and Naina," she says.

"You cool with it?"Niall asks me.

"Huh? Yeah. It is amazing." I say, almost confused.

"Then it is decided. We will go after the competition. I will talk to Anya. Mayra tell Rohan and Naina."

"Okay. Now I am going."

in the room, I see Naina packing her bags.

"Are you going for another vacation?" I ask her jokingly.

"Oh Mayra. No! I am moving out of the hostel. My family moved to Delhi."

"Aww...." I am sad, "Naina, I am gonna miss you." I hug her.

"I will miss you too."

"Naina, we have planned to go to Alice's farmhouse in Bangalore for vacations. You in?"

"No, Mayra. I am sorry. I will spend my vacations with my family. I missed them so much."

"Umm okay." I don't know how to react.

"It is fine, Mayra. We will stay in touch."

"Hmmm." I smile and lie down to sleep.

Next day, I wake up to an empty room. Naina is gone already. Alice is also not here. I get ready and walk to the music room. I find Niall there. I run and hug him.

"What happened? Mayra? Baby, what is wrong?"

Okay, so may be it's not that big a deal. May be Niall is overeacting because of my sudden actions.

"Niall, Naina left hostel."

"What? Why?" He pulls back.

"Her family shifted to Delhi. Moreover, she will not come to Bangalore too."

"It is okay, Mayra." He says and hugs me again. We pull back when someone clears his throat. Ryan and Ronil are there.

I wipe my eyes and we start practicing. Finally, lunch break.

"Let's go, Naill."

"Mayra, you go. I have some work. I will join you after sometime."

"Umm. Okay."

He smiles and leaves. I go to the canteen and meet Rohan. I tell him about Naina and the vacation.

"So, how are things between you and Anya?"

"Not again, Mayra."

"Oh come on."

"Fine. So? Niall?"

"Not again. Rohan."

"Oh come on."

"Fine. But seriously Anya?"

"We will figure it out in the vacation."

"Ooooo."

"Shut up."

"Okay."

"So?"

"I am sorry. Got to go. Practice time."

"Okay. Bye."

I return to the music room.

"Hey Niall!"

"Hey."

"So what work you had?"

"Everything has not to be told to you."

Ouch! that hurt.

"I am sorry."

We start the practice. We practiced till late.

NIALL'S POV:

Today is the big day. District level. I get up from the bed and before going for a wash, I text Mayra.

*Gm baby :-* I hope you are not nervous. Don't worry all will be too good. See ya.*

*Gm* she replies.

Why such a plane reply? She is upset about something? Oh freak! May be because I didn't tell her where I went during the break. But I just can't tell her. Thinking all this, I get ready and leave for college. We all had to meet at 9 in the music room. I am a little early. Mayra comes just on time followed by others so I do not get a chance to speak to her.

So finally, it is the district level.

" All the best, guys, " Ronil shouts and we leave for the competition. We had our performance in the first half itself. All the contenders were good.

" It is gonna be tough, Niall," Mayra is nervous again.

" Oh Mayra. Don't freak out yet again. I am bad at handling nervous girls, " I smirk and she teasingly slaps my cheek.

" Just give your best" and I hug her. We are welcomed with a huge applause. We give a rocking performance. I guess we can make it.

" Mayra! Howsoever nervous you ever may be in the wings but you are so amazing on stage."

"Thank you."

She hugs me but a sideways one.

Yes, the results are in our favour. Amongst so many teams two are selected to represent in zonals and ours is one. Now we can have a happy and a long vacation.

We return back to break the news to everyone. Alice is very happy. She hugs me and Mayra both, but me first. Zain also hugged Mayra softly.

"Fine now. Let us plan for the vacation. Shall we leave tomorrow? We have half of today to pack. What do you say Mayra?" Alice beams.

"Hmm. As you all like. What say Niall?" Mayra turns to me.

" Don't worry Mayra. Niall will say what you do!!" And they all laugh leaving me and Mayra embarassed.

Mayra looks at me and then to Rohan, "Shut up" and she pinches him.

"Okay! Okay!" He silences.

" We shall leave by tomorrow evening," Zain suggests.

" By train, " Mayra adds.

Alice gives me a weird look. We hardly travel by train. Mayra gets her expression.

"Hey Alice, be a sport. It will be fun when we all are together, " she says.

" Yup, Alice. Moreover, it is a new experience for us. Let us give it a try." I say.

" Ahem! Ahem!" Rohan breaks the silence and looks at Mayra.

"Rohan, if you have got a cough, come let me take you to the doctor," she defends and giggles.

" So, then decided. We will leave tomorrow evening by train. I will get the tickets booked," Zain confirms the plan.

"Great", Rohan and Anya almost shout.

"Mayra! Let us hurry. We got to pack," Alice seems even more excited.

They left for the room.
